Doesn't last a whole summer
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This worked for a couple months, and then stopped. Some kind of internal electrical problem. GE doesn't manufacture parts or anything for it so my warranty couldn't even get me a repair. Look for something else

Posted .Hi there, and thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. We truly hate to hear this window air conditioner stopped working after only a couple months. That is absolutely not the ownership experience we want to provide, and we will certainly send notice of your issue to our Air Conditioner Design team for review and future development. This model is covered by a limited one year manufacturer's warranty. For the first 90 days the unit would be returned to the dealer you purchased it from, if you need to replace. After that time period, you would call 866-907-1655 to inquire about replacement through the warranty. More information on your warranty is available on page 17 of your manual. We hope this information is helpful, and you have an air conditioner in good working order again soon! If you have any other concerns or questions, we're always glad to assist. -Sarah@GEA

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After only a month the unit has gone bad. The control board was replaced under warranty and 2 weeks later the compressor failed. This unit os not worth the money. GE replaced it but the new unit had the same problems. What a piece of junk

Great Air Conditioner For In A Window
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, I installed this air conditioning unit prematurely because it's currently snowing where I live in the middle of May. UGH. Anyway. I watched as my fiance set this up, but from what I saw and what he said it was a very easy setup. Super straightforward overall. The part he struggled with the most was making sure it was secure in the window. We had to put a small piece of wood on the outside of our window to prop it up. We installed this in our finished attic, where we know it'll get super hot in the summer. Downloading the app and setting that up was easy. Like anything else, you have to make a profile and connect the WiFi. There's a password on the AC that you'll need to get everything set up at first. It's probably easiest to take a picture of it before anything else so you have it handy instead of having to try to read it once you have the unit installed. The app kind of reminds me of the Nest thermostat app. You can control the temperature and set up times for when you want it to kick on. I like it overall. It has a nice user interface and I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff. The unit is quiet. I've heard some pretty loud air conditioners and this one is radio silent compared to them. It's nice because it's in a window next to where our desks are at so it won't totally distract us when we're working. It cooled our room pretty fast. It's not that big so I guess that's not surprising. I'm not sure how fast it would cool a big living room or 1 floor or anything, but for our attic it'll work really well. It shuts off when the room reaches the temperature you set on it and turns on when it drops. You can control things with the app or the remote control. Overall a really nice unit and pretty affordable. I'll be excited to see how this really works when/if we ever reach summer temperatures.

Filter alarm
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m so disappointed with my purchase. I just used this for 2 weeks and the filter started to alarm. I took it out and cleaned, washed and dried but it’s the same. The beeping sound remains and filter cannot be reset. What can I do?

Lasted less than 6 months
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this Item 5/31/22 and it already stopped working in less than 6 months. The smart function and app functionality are also horrible. The app shuts down while in use and it is very limited. It’s also not very quiet… when it did work.

Posted .Hi,
We're sorry to hear that your air conditioner is not cooling well and understand your frustration.
If your room air conditioner is not cooling properly, please check the following:
Installation:
Make sure the air conditioner is properly sized for the room.
Check to make sure nothing is blocking the front of the air conditioner. When the unit is blocked by curtains, blinds or furniture, the air flow is restricted and the cooling performance will be affected.
Ambient Temperature (Environment):
Check the outdoor temperatures. Operating a room air conditioner if the outdoor temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit or below will limit the cooling capacity of the unit.
Check the indoor temperatures. If the room is 64 degrees Fahrenheit or below already, the thermostat cannot cycle the compressor on.
Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot it will take longer to cool the room. When heat is stored up in walls, furniture, rugs and draperies, it will take longer to cool the room down. Whenever possible, turn the air conditioner on before the room heats up.
Ice on Coils/Clogged Filter:
If there is ice on the coils, then the outdoor temperature may be below 70 degrees. The best way to prevent ice on the coils is to not run the unit if the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature is close to 70 or you are unsure of the temperature, you can turn the thermostat to a warmer setting and set the fan switch to the highest position.
Make sure the air filter has been cleaned in the last 30 days. Filter removal and location varies depending on the individual model.
Setting/Operation:
Check the thermostat setting. The highest setting on a model with a mechanical (knob) dial control will provide maximum cooling. Setting the temperature to a lower setting on a model with electronic, digital controls will provide maximum cooling.
Cycling on and off too frequently means the unit may be oversized for the area to be cooled or the filter needs to be cleaned. We hope this information is helpful. Mike@GEA

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The button for mode which changes from eco to cool mode doesn’t work. Not great.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These things are junk. They cool but don't reduce the humidity at all. I had purchased an Amana unit when nothing was on sale and it works perfectly. Stay away from these. Also they only cool to 64 degrees where the Amana cools to 61.
