Although I haven't owned mine for very long, I've had absolutely zero problems with this refrigerator. I can't attest to the water dispenser portion as I don't have it hooked up at the moment but the ice bucket can be filled manually and it will dispense ice as designed. Make sure the ice maker switch is set to the OFF position to avoid inadvertently burning out the motor. I've read some other reviews complaining about noise or excessive freezing/ice crystals and that sort of thing but I have encountered no such issues. It runs quietly, looks great, and the Best Buy personnel who installed it took their time to explain the operation and other details. They were VERY professional as well. The refrigerator was well packed, with the plastic protective coating in place and everything wrapped tight as drum. I personally have no problems with unwrapping the shelves and placing them where I need them to be. That way I know all the parts are there with nothing missing. The refrigerator should be allowed to run until it achieves its optimal temperature before adding food/drinks to it (usually for a solid 24 hours). That way it doesn't have to struggle trying to get to the optimal temperature while simultaneously trying to cool/freeze food and drinks. In conclusion, great quality refrigerator, professional installation, satisfied with purchase!

We like our new GE frig. It's reasonably quiet, holds food at the right temperature, has a good amount of space, excellent external water and ice function and is beautifully designed. The shelves are not meant to hold heavy pots and pans, but food containers work well. The freezer holds at zero degrees. The unit is a asthetically pleasing.

Love it! I was nervous reading the bad reviews but it is fairly quiet, great temp, and looks even better in person. I really wanted a French door model but this still looks just as great. I’ve had it for 4 months now in my new home and I have 0 complaints.

So far working great. Water is a little loud with filling, but works fine you just hear the water click on and off. Ice maker keeps up with demand. Love the look and overall design. Stainless front is easy to clean and stays clean. Shelves are good and easy to move. The ice bucket is a little hard to replace but once you get the hang of it it is fine. The lights inside are such an improvement to my old fridge. I will say I feel the interior space is a bit smaller than the regular depth fridge, But if having counter depth is important this one is a great choice.

Works as one would expect. Food is cold, ice is frozen. I went from a refrigerator to a frig/freezer combo. I've lost frig. space but still get everything in. A bit cramped but I could not find just a fridge with a water/ice dispenser. The water is not as cold as I would have liked it but it is filtered. The ice maker crushes the ice into large chunks. It might be asking a bit much but, I would have liked the ice crusher to break the ice into smaller pieces.

When our fridge from the 90s decided it was no longer for this world, this fridge was the best option! I'm glad I checked the dimensions though, as we definitely needed the counter-depth size. The fridge also just *barely* fit into the space of our previous fridge. It's quite snug. But it cools just fine! We keep a thermometer in the fridge side and it remains in the refrigeration temperatures. We also appreciate having the crushed ice and water feature again, though I've heard the replacement filters are quite expensive. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. We're just happy to have cold groceries again!

Overall an excellent side by side. It is a tad bit louder but not horrible. It produces a very good amount of ice but it would be nice if there was an extra ice function like we had on our last refrigerator freezer which was a lemon Frigidaire (do not buy that brand, their product is bad and warranty service is even worse.) The freezer side is a little snug but other than large things like frozen pizzas it accomodates what we need. We would definitely buy this model again as it has a decent amount of storage for our space which can only hold a counter depth unit.

About a month and a half in, to owning this fridge and it's ok. Inside definitely feels cheap, plastic door shelves don't fit quite right and plastic just feels low quality. The door seems to seal ok but my last fridge which was almost 15 years old just sealed better even after 15 years. Storage setup is ok and somewhat well laid out. My biggest compliant is the noise, for a fridge it's loud and the interior fan seems to pulse more than hold a steady hum. Frankly it doesn't inspire confidence. Unfortunately I was in a situation where I needed something fast. I'll be surprised if it lasts 5 years. Hopefully it doesn't take out hundreds of dollars worth of refrigerated and frozen food when it dies. Average used to mean something that was well made and you could expect to last 12 to 15 years easy. No way this thing makes it half that.

Excellent refrigerator. Fits perfectly in the space, runs great, filtered water n ice saves me hundreds on bottled water. It is also beautiful in my smaller kitchen.

The fridge is great. It arrived on time with no damage. It came in its box and with protection. It is quiet. There is a lot of room inside. I love and prefer side-by-side fridges over others. The Best Buy associate and deliverymen were patient, nice, caring, and understanding. The fridge gets cold fast and is a joy to look at. It's tall.

The unit is good for those with narrow dining room doorways. Love the water and Ice dispenser and it even has a "night light"! BB provided Great Delivery and Installation Too! Getting a new frig is no easy task between emptying out the old one and getting it removed, the floor cleaned, and the new one squeezed through two doors, and into the perfect spot. Well, the Best Buy delivery team heled at every turn. The first frig was too wide and they knew it would not fit so they saved me the hassle and took it back and told me to order the counter depth so it would fit and it did! Delivery was fast, and a huge help. Thanks BB team!

Fits beautifully in our kitchen. Is streamline and not hitting the edge of the refrigerator when walking by. Although a little less room in the refrigerator, it is hardly noticeable. The lighting is excellent and no running noise. So glad we chose this one.

I have had this for about 6 weeks and so far it is great. Perfect for my needs. It is roomy, runs quietly and is very attractive in my new home. Have had GE appliances in the past and have been very satisfied.

Provides a lot more space than I thought a counter depth would. It has great lighting and is pretty quiet. I love the snack drawer and slide out freezer drawers. The only negative is the brushed steel finish is a little dull.

Even though this refrigerator is a little smaller than the last one it is a good size for us. Works great, Is quiet. Controls are easy to understand and use.

Our last fridge had little things that annoyed us, so this time around we made sure to find one that didn’t have all those little annoyances. 1. Ice maker - ice was always getting jammed up. This fridge has yet to do that and we’ve had it for about a month now. 2. The brackets that held the shelves in the freezer couldn’t hold the weight of the stuff on the shelves and would make the shelves sag. This freezer has built in rails so the shelves will never sag. 3. Our last fridge had all these nice displays but they always burnt out. We had them replaced twice. Never really used them anyways, but this fridge has basically only what we need...ice, crushed ice, and water. And then when you want to set the temp, that display comes up. I would recommend this fridge no problem. We did go from a normal depth to this counter depth, so that is about the only thing that took some getting used to because we had to arrange things a little differently but still plenty of space.

Amazing Side by Side Counter-Depth Refrigerator- Stainless Steel purchased several weeks ago and I am very proud. Features are : Ice maker with off/on switch, Depth allows you so much space inside. Adjustable shelves allow you more flexibility, Door shelves are deeper allowing you more room to organize, Lighting is and excellent allow you to see from every angle. Alarm if the door is left Open Great!!!!! Price was very affordable.

It functions well. Relatively quiet. Adequate space and design. Easy to work with and maneuver.

We have just moved and as a result had to buy a new refrigerator. After reading all the reviews for all brands, we came to the conclusion that all other things appliances are no longer built to last a lifetime. We decided we would rather spend 1200 dollars instead of 4200 for something that was probably going to need to be replaced within the next 8 years. We picked this GE side by side because of the reviews and because of the price. The first model we received had a bent freezer door and because of that snow crystals started to form in the freezer after the first two days of our ownership. We called Best Buy and they agreed to bring out a new frig in about a week. The second one we got has been perfect. It is very quiet. It stays a constant temperature in the freezer and in the refrigerator. For the money we spent, we are very pleased and Best Buy did the right thing by switching out our refrigerator with no questions asked. We think we were smart to buy this particular refrigerator! If the first one they delivered had not been damaged, I woul give it 4 or 5 stars.
