A special bypass plug is needed if you dont want to use the water filter. Water and ice will NOT get generated when the filter is expired. In addition, it is very noisy. Never again after 40 years.

But since purchasing this refrigerator, I’ve had problems with temperature controls. The freezer doesn’t freeze the food properly at either recommended setting. And the refrigerator is freezing food. I’m very disappointed and regret my purchase.

I needed to exchange. The height listed on bb.com was for the unit to fit into my opening, and did not list the height of the front door. I could not open a cabinet door above the unit. The door height is not listed in the dimensions on the site.

The freezer and ice cube dispenser work well, though the size of the ice cubes are too large. Its disappointing that the water dispenser does not release chilled water - you have to manually add (extra large) ice cubes to the lukewarm water to get cold water!! Extremely annoying!! Secondly, the fridge side does not get cold enough and things are just a little colder than lukewarm. Items usually have condensation on them, and just don't feel very cold. The door alarm goes off only if the door is left fully open for a few minutes, and does not work if the door is partially sealed. So, a little disappointed.

But if you want a good quality refrigerator that will last you then there is nothing like a GE.

It doesn’t have alllll the bells and whistles like some of the other models but I would recommend avoiding any LG based on my last experience and the class action suit.
