Customers are saying
Customers value the 5.3 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Electric Range's ease of use and quick heating speed. Many appreciate its attractive appearance, reasonable price, and self-cleaning feature. While some find the glass top requires extra care, and the bottom drawer could be larger, the overall performance receives positive feedback. The timer's audibility is a minor point of concern for a few users.

Okay, but scratches easily and a few other flaws.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced an old GE coil top style electric range. Frankly, other than the more modern look here, I preferred the old one. We've had this now a few months. The glass top has many scratches in it. We use the same Farberware stainless steel pots/pans with aluminum bottoms we always used, but any sliding of a filled pot may well scratch the glass. We have used the Weiman cooktop cleaners and polishes, but while the surface cleans up well, the scratches sure make it look old. Not sure if all glass tops are so vulnerable, but this is unsightly after just a few months. The range looks much older than it is. Second issue is when trying to use a low temperature on the surface burners. The lowest temperature on the front large burners is still hot enough to keep things boiling. We were used to low meaning "simmer," here low is not low enough. We end up having to move a pot 2/3 of the way off of the burner. And don't slide it or you'll scratch the surface. Third issue is a design flaw in my opinion. The two large burners are side by side in front. My older stove had them diagonally from each other - one in front and one in the rear. If you need to use two large pots or pans on the two large front burners, they may not fit well. And if they do, good luck getting access to the small burners in the back without a rather inconvenient and somewhat perilous reach over the front pans. Inside baking and broiling seem fine. LED controls are limited but adequate. When timer is running, the temperature display is no long visible. The bottom drawer is some what smaller than other models so not everything we stored in the old one fits in this one. Stainless steel does show fingerprints but there are cleaners for that. All in all, I'd give it a fair rating, but the surface scratching is my biggest complaint. Would I buy this same one again? Probably not, if there were other choices in the same general price range that matched the other new appliances

Posted .Hi there - Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are sorry to hear about the scratches on your cooktop and the issues with your burners running too hot to simmer. We understand that inconveniences like these can be incredibly frustrating. As you've noticed, sliding metal cookware on the glass cooktop will leave metal markings on the cooktop surface. These marks are removable using CeramaBryte®, CeramaBryte® Cleaning Pad, and/or razor scraper. You could also carefully check the bottom of pans for nicks, gouges, or any rough area as these types of imperfections will scratch the cooktop. For more cleaning tips, feel free to check out an article on our website titled, "Electric Ranges & Cooktops - Glass Cooktop Cleaning Instructions." - As for simmering on the surface burners, we recommend trying the lowest settings on the rear burners to see if this helps. If the low setting on your burners is boiling food quickly, we suggest reaching out to our service team to have this looked at. - We appreciate your feedback about the design of the cooktop burners and control panel. We will certainly be passing your comments along to our design team for future products. Thank you for being a member of our GE Appliances Family. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. All the best, Kelsey@GEA

Decent oven, a little flimsy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave this a fair rating based on my BB experience and how this oven was made. Got this to replace it predecessor because the top broke. Total to fix was going to be $500 so why not just buy a new stove. This one seems OK but it uses much less metal parts than the former model. Also, it is not stainless due to the fact you can stick a magnet right on it. Listed price was not what it will actually cost you to get it brought to your home (BB tacked on a disposal, cord fee, and another $75 in misc BS. If you are looking for a decent inexpensive oven this would do.

Posted .Hello zippy - Thank you for purchasing a new GE Appliances Range. We truly appreciate you choosing our product over other options. Stainless Steel can vary in its magnetism. Some stainless steel will not hold a magnet. We do offer some variations that will allow you to use magnets. Our hope is that this appliance will serve you and your family well for many years to come. -TREY@GEA

Worst GE range I have ever owned, inconsistent
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This range takes forever to heat up and cool down. There is no consistency between the burners. My wife and I have either owned or used in rentals numerous ranges, most of which were GE, which we always liked. This is the worst ever. Hopefully this is an artifact of Covid and poor training of new associates. I recommend avoiding GE for awhile at least.
