Customers value the 5.3 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Electric Range's ease of use and quick heating speed. Many appreciate its attractive appearance, reasonable price, and self-cleaning feature. While some find the glass top requires extra care, and the bottom drawer could be larger, the overall performance receives positive feedback. The timer's audibility is a minor point of concern for a few users.

We know how important cleaning and maintaining your range can be, and we want to help. Instructions for cleaning the glass cooktop are available starting on page 21 of the manual; if you’d like to view that, you can do so on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. Your feedback will be shared with our team for consideration, and we’re confident the range will serve your needs well for many years to come. -Sarah@GEAppliances

No issues for 5 years after which the glass cooktop cracked (while not being used). Replacement part for the glass cooktop costs more than the actual range itself.

DO NOT PURCHASE! FIRE HAZARD!!!

We bought this product in June 2020. In October 2020, I was cooking rice on the left front burner, brought the water to boil, then turned it to Lo to simmer. The element stayed red. The rice stayed at a rapid boil. If I'd turned my back, it would have been on fire in 5 minutes. Any setting on this burner, at either the small or large element halves of the dial, goes to full blast now, because somewhere inside this appliance, the electronics have failed. After four months of use. I called GE this morning (Saturday), told them about it, suggested they needed to do a national recall or someone was going to die. This is akin to selling a car with faulty brakes or, better comparison, an explosive gas tank (remember the Pinto?). I was told this was a matter for customer relations, they'd be in Monday, call back then. No one took my name or number, no one really seemed to care. Maybe this is a known issue at GE, and the few bucks they save per unit on cheaper electronics is enough to pay for the occasional death settlement. Or maybe they figure they'll never lose a case. They're GE, after all.
