Best Buy offered to replace our new range free of charge when the broiler began spewing toxic smoke. The replacement range has the same issue unfortunately. The installers were good and it's not their fault. There seems to be a serious defect with this product's broiler. It spews toxic smoke for an extended period. After at letting it burn for 10 minutes we turned it off. We will buy something else now. Done with this oven. It's literally dangerous. At fist the installers thought I was overreacting - they said it's normal for oils to burn off in a new oven. However once they saw the smoke from the broiler they changed their minds and agreed something is seriously wrong with this product.

Using a fine powder cleaner, as recommended just makes a bigger mess. I had NO idea this stove had no oven self-cleaning mode. I just assumed, I guess, that all modern stoves had this feature. I do not remember reading anywhere in the description that this was missing. I was so excited to find a stove that did not have controls in front, but I now hate this oven!

GE technician came by and needs to order new wires to fix the issue. We now have to wait for another week for the part and the technician needs to stop by again. Spent good amount of money for this kind of headache, bad quality control.

Amazing stove

It didn't disappoint. The stove heats up extremely fast and the griddle is a another great feature to have.
