This GE - 5-Speed 72-Oz. Blender is a powerful machine. Our 25 year old blender (the kind with the push buttons) finally froze up so we decided to get into the 21st century with a new modern blender.
The design of this blender is very sleek. The stainless steel finish looks great and matches well if you have other stainless appliances. No need to hide this in a cabinet, it looks like it belongs right on our countertop.
The performance is flawless. The main thing I noticed was the motor is very quiet. The old machine sounded like a wood chipper firing up but you can barely hear the motor on this GE blender.
The first use was for a smoothie. It whipped up a bunch of berries, bananas, granola, ice and juice in a matter of seconds. Using the top level of 5 actually liquefied it to much. On the next try I used level 4 and it left a little thicker smoothie.
The best feature is the huge 72 ounce pitcher jar. You can blend up enough margheritas to keep the glasses of a party of 4 full for a while without having to blend up another batch every few minutes.
Some other nice features are a lid that fits extremely tight and suction cup feet so your beverage of choice doesn't fly out of the top or slide off the counter.
Great blender GE.

A Good Basic Blender That Works Well

The main body of the blender is constructed of gray plastic with a stainless steel skin and chromed plastic knobs. It features a power cord of acceptable length, integrated cord storage on the back, and 2 stabilizing suction cups underneath.
The 72oz jar is molded from a BPA-free plastic called Tritan and has a non-removable stainless steel blade that is fairly sharp. The jar is very light and super clear and both it and the lid are dishwasher safe.
The blender features a 1000w motor with 5 speed settings. The Pulse mode operates as you would expect and the On button can also be used to trigger a Crushed Ice Mode, which is a nice plus given the basic feature set.
As for performance, the blender works well. The 1000w motor, while not the strongest in its price point, never seems bogged down. Contents circulate well in the jar and come out smooth. And the motor is not excessively loud.
At the end of the day, the GE 5-Speed 72-oz blender is a good basic blender that works well.

This GE Blender is a 1000 watt blender, so it blends through tough ingredients including chunks or cubes of ice. It blended the fruit so smoothly. It has 5 speed settings to accommodate different items like ice, cantaloupe, apples, watermelon and celery. I especially like the large 72 ounce jar, because we have a large family of 7 its big enough for big jobs . The blender itself is very slick looking, the stainless steel finish looks good in our kitchen. It doesn’t take up a lot of space on our counter tops and that a big plus. I really like the built-in power cord storage. It definitely looks and feels like a quality appliance and it will withstand heavy and consistent use. Th safety feature on the lid allows you to add fluids to your desired consistency. I would recommend this blender and I have enjoyed how easy it is to operate.

Useful Features but not Glass Carafe

This blender is powerful and nice to look at as well. Nice crisp design with user friendly controls. It does have four feet of which two are suction feet that grab countertops well.
It is all plastic which works fine, however a glass carafe is more durable I have found.
This blender has 5 speeds but does not have the technology to press a button and the blender runs a programmed type of mixing. The blender crushed ice perfectly into snow cone size particles.
The blender does have an interlock to prevent it turning on without the carafe in place so it is more child safe in this regard.
It has metal blades and is quite powerful, so I do recommend this unit as a solid, stylish and simple to use blender.

You can't go wrong with any product from GE. I have the matching toaster in my kitchen and they look great together on the counter. Their new sleek stainless steel design is eye catching and modern.
There aren't any high-tech settings or gadgets for this blender. Just the 72 oz carafe, the dial settings, and a couple paddle controls. I like that there are hooks on the back to tie the cord back up and keep it tidy. It doesn't slide at all with use. It blended my margaritas perfectly. I also used it to crush crackers for baked mac and cheese and boy did it do the job right!
If you're in the market for a new blender and like a nice stainless design, I highly recommend this one from GE.

This machine is good for light weight mixing and stuff but not for ice heavy items. Doesn’t produce enough torque. Went bad in just a few months. Another thing to notice is that the blades are small.

My wife and I are in love with this blender. We have been using Ninja blenders for the past few years but have also been miserable to clean and the pulse features were always too aggressive. Enter the GE 5 Speed blender, a good size blender that is EASY to clean and a pulse that is actually functional.
We have been putting it through its paces for a little over a week now and it has yet to bog down or fail us. We have made almond flour and 5 minutes later smoothies, guess what, 15 minutes from start to finish we made the almond flour, pureed the fruit, added the flour, poured so easily with the spout and cleaned up.
We also are really happy with the noise level. Is is loud, yes, all blenders are, but is it unbearable loud? NO, it is about half the other brand at all levels which at 5am keeps the kids in bed when I mix up my breakfast smoothie before I leave for work.
The size is perfect for a family of 6, so anyone under that should never be short on volume. I was able to blend 2 bananas, 1/2 pound of frozen strawberries, 3 sliced and cored apples and 6 oz container of blueberries all at once. That covers enough for myself, my wife and all 4 of my daughters to add fruit to their daily breakfast.
The look of it is perfect as well. We always hid the other brand blenders but the GE just looks great so now it stays our next to the other Stainless kitchen items.
I am truly happy with this blender and I am pretty sure 95% of people that purchase it will be as well.

Compact blender for kitchens w/ no counter space
|

Nice compact blender. The motor base is slender and has rear suction feet to keep it stable on a countertop. The plastic pitcher is the same diameter as the base and has a decent pair of cutting blades. The blades are small and stacked, but it looks like two blades at different heights. Regardless it cuts really well on number 4, at least for me. There are setting 0 thru 5 and although they do ramp up in speed from 1-5, the action seems different for each setting. On 3, the blender seems to be slow but does a good chop on my veggies. Then on 4, it starts to finely chop those veggies and liquifies the mix. The action seems more of a stir or eddy on 4 and an up and down action on 3. I don’t know how to explain it, but the varied movements on each setting help break down whatever I’m blending. If you get one, you’ll see.
So, I mentioned it’s compact. I have a small kitchen with very little counter space to waste. This tall, but compact unit tucks nicely under the corner cabinet. It’s square and about as wide or deep as my electric can opener (you do know how big my can opener is…don’t you?).
Anyway, if you’re looking for a small blender that you can leave out and use daily, this may be it. I’m happy with it and the stainless motor housing makes it look in style. I’d recommend it to anyone with a blender need and a tight kitchen.

Great blender!

This is a great blender that rivals my other much more expensive blender. I’ve taken a break from my other blender, which retails for almost 4 to 5 times the cost of this blender, to test this one out for a week. I love it! It gives my other blender a run for the money. It's all about power. It creates smoothies and crushes ice in 20-40 seconds. Surprisingly the motor is not very loud and doesn't have that high-pitched sound many other blenders make. It seems to me that the motor varies the speed on its own to maximize chopping efficiency. Very impressive. The jar has great capacity to blend a few cups of smoothie. It is very easily programmed. I like the fact that this is very powerful which can crushed ice effortlessly. Here are some observations
For chopping, this blender is impressive. It looks so much like a food processor that I tried chopping an onion, and got acceptable results. I would absolutely use this for that. For ice crushing, Yes, yes, yes. Snow in blazingly fast time. Sno-cones, margaritas, whatever, this blender has that application covered. Fantastic results, far better than the other blender. For pulverizing, I thought it was very good but not great. In my homemade jalapeño-coleslaw dressing, the blender didn’t quite get all the jalapeño pulverized, and there were little chunks still in the dressing. It had a little trouble pulverizing 2 large bunches of kale, and I had to stop the blender a few times to use a scraper to push the leaves down. I also needed to add some water to aid in the blending. The leaves ended up rather smoothly pulverized, although I don’t think they were quite as fine as in the other blender.
Power and wattage are most important when it comes to the blending of large batches. Blenders with powerful motor tend to be noisier but come with the ability to crush nearly everything. A standard countertop blender used to smoothies and other ice blended/frozen drinks have the power of 500 watts and serves to be sufficient. Immersion blenders are usually low in power which is why they are not capable of blending hard fruits and veggies. If you are looking for a blender that simply does the chopping, mixing and pureeing, you can get one with 300 watts. If you want a blender that can turn nuts into pastes, you better get a 700 watts or more power blender. This blender is 1000 Watt!!
It's easier to scrape out all the food from the blender to get it perfectly clean. My other blender always ends up with food stuck under the blades, and if it’s something like hummus, it’s really hard to get it clean. So the design on the blades in this blender is brilliant. Be careful, though: those blades are sharp. I managed to slice my hands open on two separate occasions while trying to put them in or take them out of the dishwasher.
Seriously, having tried this blender, I can’t see recommending that anyone spend the extra money on expensive brands. This is a really nice blender.

GE makes great appliances and this blender is also high quality. It comes in a nice metal finish to match other stainless steel appliances. Overall it has a great capacity to blend large amounts. It is a very simple blender and doesn’t have many options except for speed. There is a whole in the lid which allows you to easily add ingredients in without taking the entire lid off. I would recommend this blender to anyone who’s looking for a basic easy to use blender with a high quality design.

This GE blender is truly an amazing device for the kitchen. From the look all the way to the build quality, this makes for a top notch blender.
The Blender comes with the stainless steel base, a very large container for mixing, and a 3-piece lid. The lid is actually pretty convenient as the top comes apart to add ingredients, plus there is another smaller piece that detaches for adding liquid. The base is constructed of high quality stainless steel, and looks amazing standing on the counter. The knobs and switches have a nice chrome accent, as well. A very nice feature to the blender is that there are 2 suction cups at the bottom of the blender that holds it in place, so it won't move around when blending.
The blender has 5 different speed, as well a a pulse mode. Starting at the lowest speed, I was impressed at how powerful it was able to chop and mix and that was just the lowest speed. Once I turned it up to higher level, the blender literally pulverizes everything into liquid, without skipping a beat. I was able to crush ice in seconds, and making smoothies is a snap. I really like how the cover comes apart to add fruits without making a big splash everywhere.
Overall, I am extremely impressed with the GE 5-speed blender. It does everything I expected and more. The elegant look of it, makes it shine on the counter. Plus with the suction cups, I was able to blend without my blender moving all over the place. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new blender.

Made some frozen margaritas last night and this machine works great at crushing and blending the ice. This unit is the perfect size for travel. An included travel bag would have been awesome! You have a five way selectable switch and the on switch doubles as a continuous or momentary switch (pulse) The brush stainless steel look adds a fit and finish to the over-all aesthetic. You really can't go wrong.

I don’t know exactly how to expand upon this blender review much more than that. It is very well built, easy to use and easy to clean. It works phenomenally and is the quietest blender we’ve ever owned. Most of the parts are dishwasher safe, except for the smaller lid insert. That’s a slight annoyance, but definitely not a deal breaker. At this price point, or even at a higher one, you can’t go wrong with this blender. Take a look at the model that includes a blender cup as well! I would definitely recommend this blender to a friend.

This product performs as good as it looks. It has sleek and simplistic design without compromising on functionality. I appreciate the different blend speeds, and it does pack some power. It's slightly noisy on the higher levels obviously, but it's not extremely loud. I did wish for it to come with different cups, but this is only minor. Overall, a nice catch.

I use blenders a lot to make juices and protein shakes, so I go through a lot of blenders. This one is very powerful and the fruits and veggies are blended without any issues. A powerful no-frills blender, this is exactly what I wanted.
