This air is not good. it work well for a few hours after 5 hours you’ll see it won’t be cold enough . I’m very disappointed plus I paid for the membership that gives you 60 days for the return and I just looked on my Best Buy app and is not returnable when I got this air 3 weeks ago. it hasn’t been 60 at all. Also I’m the dark you’ll see a lot of sunlight coming true the AC.

First look at box corner, not a good sign. Second look at AC, busted corner. If this is not being used as a medical emergency, I would return right away, this is unacceptable!

The GE 12,000 BTU Smart Air Conditioner is a versatile and energy-efficient cooling solution, designed to provide comfort while seamlessly integrating with modern smart home systems. It’s ideal for medium to large-sized rooms and offers advanced features that enhance convenience and performance. Key Features 1. Cooling Power With 12,000 BTUs, this unit effectively cools spaces up to 550 square feet, making it suitable for living rooms, large bedrooms, or small offices. The cooling performance is consistent, and it quickly brings room temperatures down to a comfortable level even on hot days. 2. Smart Home Integration The unit connects to Wi-Fi and is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and the GE Appliances SmartHQ app. Voice commands and remote controls make it easy to adjust settings without being in the same room. 3. Energy Efficiency It boasts an impressive Energy Star certification, which means lower electricity bills without sacrificing cooling performance. The eco mode and programmable scheduling add extra savings by optimizing operation times. 4. Customizable Settings The unit features multiple fan speeds, cooling modes, and a built-in dehumidifier. It allows users to tailor the experience to their preferences and conditions, whether you need rapid cooling or gentle airflow. 5. Quiet Operation For an AC of this size, the noise levels are reasonable. While it’s not completely silent, it’s quieter than many comparable models, especially on lower fan settings. Strengths • User-Friendly App: The SmartHQ app makes it easy to set timers, adjust temperatures, and monitor energy usage remotely. • Sleek Design: The modern look fits well with most room aesthetics. • Dehumidifier Function: It efficiently reduces humidity, improving overall air quality. • Durability: GE’s reputation for reliability is evident in the solid build quality. Areas for Improvement • Initial Setup: Some users may find the Wi-Fi setup process challenging, especially if they’re unfamiliar with smart devices. • Weight and Installation: At approximately 75 pounds, it can be cumbersome to install, particularly for one person. • Fan Direction: The airflow direction adjustment is somewhat limited, which may not work for all room layouts. Verdict The GE 12,000 BTU Smart Air Conditioner is a high-performing and feature-rich unit that combines cooling efficiency with smart technology. While the setup process and installation could be smoother, its reliable performance and energy-saving features make it a standout option for anyone seeking an air conditioner with modern conveniences.

Able to cool the house down in Louisiana

Our central AC is broken and it's been record heat last week, 90 degrees with heat index over 100 and once the sun goes down its 100% humidity. This AC I installed in the center of our home which is maybe 1000 square feet of open area which is a lot more than the ac is rated for but this AC does the job keeping us cool and comfortable during the day and once the sun goes down it cools off the space and I can turn it off, meaning it doesnt have to run all night just to remove the heat that's built up over the day. I am very happy with the purchase in terms of price and how well it works. It is also not that loud considering it size especially because of how much area it cools you dont have to sit close to feel it. This was the biggest ac I could buy that would fit in our windows so I know if I installed it in a space closer to the 550 sq feet its rated for it would work amazing. Today its 75 in the house and 90 degrees outside with no clouds and doing fine. Other days when its mid 80s with clouds I can keep the ac on lower fan and eco mode and it almost gets too cold. Two things to note. This is a big ac and it barely fit in our window so be sure to measure before purchasing and give yourself a little extra room to account for having to pivot it into place and account for the bar on top that holds it in the window. It is also about the limit size and weight wise of what one person can install so be safe and have another person help. Ive installed 3 other smaller window units so I knew what I was doing and to expect with our Windows but if this was my first install I would have needed help.

Bought this GE because my other one lasted for over 8 years. It is easy to install and started right up. Tried to find one that is not a smart conditioner but couldn't find one. Some may thinks its a great feature but when you don't need it you still have to pay a little higher price. My other GE was a lot quieter and hate to say, but it was a lot cooler. It keeps the upstairs small to medium bedroom cool but not much else. But all in all, I am glad I have it with these 90 degree weather. Works good if you need it for a bedroom.

One of the best AC's ever purchased. It cools down my bedroom and the rest of the rooms in my home quickly. I like to run it on the low setting and not for long, maybe an hour or two depending how hot it is outside. A bit noisey, just hsve to tune it out.

Bought this one (it was in stock and needed another one ASAP) to replace another AC unit that decided to quit working. Cools the room effectively and, while a little noisy, it's slightly quieter than the old unit. The included remote's range is a joke - I have to be within 3 feet, or less, of the unit and pointing straight at it. I'm not using the wi-fi feature or app. While others may not, I like that the display goes out after running for a few minutes. Easy to set up and install in window. Note: Be aware of the rubber drain plug on the bottom/outside of the unit. I took it out after the unit shut off due to the pan being filled with water. Wasn't a big deal for me as mine is mounted in a window that I can easily get to on the ground floor, but for those of you who might install this unit in a higher floor level, you might have to get on a ladder or take the unit out of the window to remove this plug/add a drain hose.

This cools well so far. The remote is nice to have and it’s energy star rated, I got it inS my widow myself. My only complaint is that it started out nice and quiet but got kinda loud before very long but I’ve never had a quiet one. Pleased overall.

Best of four window AC units I have

Does a decent job of cooling down a room it is really too small for. Have misgivings about "the Internet of Things" - but being able to control the unit from my phone is a major convenience! I have another GE unit of the same size that is maybe two years older. Both use the same remote, The remotes works from across the room, yet I have to be on top of the older unit to see what mode the thing is in. I never took sound readings on the unit this replaced, just remember it was annoying. This one is less so. A sound meter app on my phone registered 62 decibels sitting three feet from the machine, and 52 to 58 sitting twenty feet away. Hopefully my next AC purchase will be a central ductless (mini-split) heat pump system.

Really like the Wifi/Bluetooth function on this appliance. It’s not heavy and relatively easy to install (definitely need two people though). It is a little noisy (but that could just be about any a/c unit) and I would give this a 5 but I had issues reconnecting the wifi in the new apartment. I was eventually able to receive support after getting bounced around a few times via phone.

Awesome AC window unit in terms of cooling power and effectiveness. I especially like the wifi feature that automatically turns on/off based on my location to my apartment. My only gripe would be it's a little loud, but I've gotten used to that... so not a big deal.

We live in a one bedroom apartment that is first level to basement. This AC is so powerful that our bedroom gets cold all the way from the living room! It’s a little loud, but we will just blast the TV and it gets the job done. Definitely worth the money!!

Cools a 600 sq Ft room no problem. Like the wifi app that goes along with this. Can program it to maintain a room temp or come on at certain times and go off at certain times. Comes with a remote too. Just a tad noisy when running. However after about a day or two, you don't even notice it. That's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. Had it for about a month.
