Posted .Hello there! Thanks for your review and for being part of the GE Appliances family. We're sorry that your air conditioner is loud and that it's not working properly. We see how this can be frustrating. Anything that restricts air flow will cause the temperature of the system's evaporator coil to drop below freezing. Humidity in the air will collect on the coil causing ice to build-up and diminish the system's cooling capacity. Dirty air filters can seriously impede air flow. If these troubleshooting tips do not work and your unit is under a year old, we recommend taking advantage of your warranty.
