Upgraded from a 8,000 BTU unit window A/C to this guy. And, wow we can tell the difference! It is easily connected to the app, where you can control the A/C from your phone. (Also change the settings when you're away from home, much to the aggravation of my wife.) We used to have our AC set on 66, with this we keep it in the 69 or 70 degree range. So, hopefully with the Energy Star benefit, it will save us some $$ while keeping us cool. The only downside is the size. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing an additional support bracket to help support this beast. He's a big boy, and it's better safe then sorry.

Not only did Best Buy have to best price on the GE Windows ac unit, they Shipped it out the same day I ordered it. This is probably the best ac window unit that I've ever had. It is a 12000btu unit and easily cools a 25x30ft room in Louisiana. We've had an especially Hot Summer this year and my old ac unit gave out. That's the reason I bought this GE from Best Buy.

Delivery was received on time as stated. Easy to install but pairing to our phones was troublesome. Never did get that to connect. Great a/c power for our living room. Not as quiet as hoped but not deafening either. Like the different settings to control a/c and shuts down when room temp is reached that you set it for.

Excellent, very quiet and cools efficiently. Easy to install. Love the smart app connection. Price was our Best Buy.

We have an older home that doesn't have central air. Purchased this unit to cool our down stairs floor, approx. 1800 square feet. It works most days to do that but if its crazy hot out (95 degrees plus) it is going to be running the whole time. I love that it is a smart unit so I can control it from my phone, and program it to turn on before I get home from work so the house is cool by the time I get there.

Surprised us by cooling our entire small downstairs of 5 rooms, including the kitchen. We are very happy with the options it provides as well as the size since we don't have a lot of window space. It was an easy install!

This is a great unit to own, It cools my room almost instantly and has a lot of settings as well as connects to the WIfi to be controlled from app on a smart phone. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking for an easy install.

This AC unit is a little on the loud side but it is worth it! The air is cold and it keeps my whole down stair at 72 degrees! It only took about 5 minutes to install all the part and it was ready to go.

Works very well. Gets very cold. The ECO setting is spot on. Usually i only need to keep it at 70. Once in a while i put it to 68 and it cools my whole living room and kitchen area. It is the same btu as my previous AC but not as big. That is a good thing as my last AC took up the entire width of the window. This one is smaller in size so it wasn't such a chore to get in thw window.

I bought this as a gift for a friend. It is 5k BTU’s than the one it was replacing. However, this one cools quicker, cheaper and the thermostat works great. Love the smart phone feature

The unit does have strong cooling. I put it in a medium-sized room and it can get quite cold in here, even on the low setting. The remote control is a bit fussy. You have to be relatively close and have it pointed at it. If you go through the procedure, you can have it connect to your WiFi, put the app on your phone, and then control/set it using your phone. You can also do this from anywhere, which is nice. This means if you can turn it on when you're ready to come home, or turn it off (or turn it lower) if you're away. The app will show you how much energy it's using, and allow you to program routines (like go to a warmer setting for evenings and when you're at work, and then be cooler for when you're home). The one thing I don't care for is that the thermostat has a lot of leeway. For example, I'll set the thermostat for 72. Using my phone, I can see that it will stay on and cooling until it gets down to 70 or lower before the condenser turns off (the phone shows the current temperature that it's registering). After the condenser turns off, the room will then warm up to about 74 or higher before it will start cooling again. That's a pretty big temperature swing.

I didn’t use this for more than a week. I wish i could! It cooled the place down so quickly… Problem is, my house is old. The outlets by the windows couldn’t handle the power, so i gave it to my dad who said he would sell it.. but you know how dads are. Now it’s just taking up space in his shed…. So much potential! I’m just lazy and took the L. $400 lost, but ya live an ya learn. I had to get two ACs with 5,000 BTU. I didn’t return it because i think it was past the return window.. and again.. that thing was heavy so i was just too lazy to return it!

I was very please with how easy this unit was to install. All the necessary hardware is included, even the weather stripping and foam side panels, which allowed me to do a professional looking installation by myself in about 2 hours. As far as the cooling capacity, it kicks out much more cold air than my previous 12,000 BTU unit, so I agree with other reviewers that it cools more than the advertised square footage.

Great AC! Does a great job of cooling my RV! Love that i can check on it and control everything from my phone from anywhere. Definitely couldn't best the price!! Thanks best buy! Easy installation. Keeps my house cool. Excellent price for the air conditioner.

Its a little noisy, the first one we had the fan blew apart so we returned it for another. It cools are very large bedroom, bathroom & closet but id prefer it colder.

The AC quickly cools the room but is a little noisy. It takes about 10 minutes to cool a 400-500 sq ft room. I was not able to use the smart home feature as the app was not able to recognize my ac unit. I was not able to use the AC via the phone app which was the primary reason for buying this unit.

Purchased 2 units. Both installed to cool spaces under manufacturer recommend 550 sqft. Works as advertised for this space and is fairly quiet. Unsuccessful at connecting wifi on first attempt but have not revisited yet as not an important feature to me. Note: one of units Purchased began making lots of noise and barely cooling after only 2 weeks. Best Buy exchanged and is working well. A lot of cooling power but not super heavy unit. Review one less of excellent because of WiFi connectivity and one unit defective.
