Our mistake was to keep getting the same one. If you get a Best Buy extended warranty they will honor it. But on this product the manufacturers one year warranty is to return it to place of purchase even though it is advertised as one parts and labor. The GE tech came to our house for two of these and each time they gave us a slip that said GE has no replacement parts for this item. Return to vendor. Best Buy manager talked down to us and acted like he was doing us a favor by honoring a warranty on a product they sold us. Sometimes manufacturers will have a bad run on a product and that is understandable, we liked the GE air conditioner, except for the problems.

I mostly used it during part of the spring and summer, but it didn’t even last three years. I have other AC units from different brands that still work perfectly after more than 14 years. This one is definitely not worth it.

I bought this hoping for some real relief from the summer heat. It doesn’t provide enough cooling for the recommendations on sq. Feet. Unless you’re directly in front of it don’t expect it to do much more. When I run it with the 70 in. ceiling fan it’s good. No fan no bueno :(. I bought it on the deal of the day so I’m not heartbroken. Had I paid full price it would have gone back the next day.
