The replacement lasted just 4 and a half month. It turns on and runs 3 seconds and shuts down. I have unplugged it and let it sit for an hour hoping it would reset itself but it did not. How did I end up getting two bad ac units? Are they of poor quality or is Bestbuy damaging them during the shipping and handling process? Bestbuy website says they will help with obtaining manufactures warranty services but when I called them they said I was on my own and refused to help me. I definitely do not recommend this product and will never buy another GE appliance and will not purchase any more items from Bestbuy.

Now GE is fighting me over the broken machine. They claim to have one year warranty, but trying to get a new one is quite the hassle. Not worth the headache. It is over a week now and GE is telling me to buy a new machine. I now have a broken AC in my window and it will cost me time and money to have it recycled. What a waste! GE wants me to buy a new machine and send them a receipt. Plus I have to pay sales tax times two. No thanks.
