Upon purchasing, it was so unbearably hot! It works great. My room is actually too small for this portable unit. It takes up too much room, It covers 550 sq. Ft. I recently purchased a window unit and will move this unit into the living/family room. It does make some noise it's not quiet, but I actually have problems getting to sleep, this unit works well for me.

The GE - 550 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner in White was the best choice for the price, quality and availability. Easy installation to our family room window and easy use. Definite need during this scorching season at our house!

It's a good unit. Nice and cold but very loud. It's in my bedroom so it took me some time to get used to it to sleep. I only used it on low because it's so cold I don't need the stronger fan. Good unit

We keep it mostly in our bedroom and it keeps it comfortable on hot nights. It is kinda loud but that hasn’t kept either of us from sleeping through the night. If you can deal with a little bit of noise, I would recommend this unit

It cooled my entire 1500 ft apartment, I love it..

It gets real cold easy to pick up for me (I'm used to lifting heavy things though) very simple navigation easily can change settings with remote or your own finger very portable easy clean for the filter as well very quality product I extremely recommend!!!

I bought this for my parents, they said it was working fine at first. About a week later i guess when the ac kicked on there was be a loud noise and rattle, not too big an issue. A week after that they said it just shut off in the middle of the night. I dont know what is wrong with it, nor can i find the manual. I also didnt realize that they only give you two weeks to return this product. Wish I had paid attention to that. It may be a simple fix, but I definitely wouldn't buy again.

Overall this has been a very good unit and it cools our basement quickly. The unit can get loud at higher speeds which may be a concern for some. Our one complaint is that our box, which was new and sealed, was missing the pieces needed to mount the vent in a window. Have contacted GE repeatedly to try and get the parts sent but no one will respond to my email, calls, or even posts to social media. Ended up having to go to the local hardware store to buy parts While the hardware appears to be good I would have a hard time recommending since I have very little confidence in GE Support at this point. Hopefully this unit will not have issues .

I absolutely love my GE Portable Air Conditioner. I got it as an addition to another portable air conditioner I already had as the weather in the Pacific Northwest has been brutal. My only problem with the air conditioner is that the electrical wiring in my apartment will not allow me to use both air conditioners at the same time, even at opposite ends of the house. I used chat on Best Buy when I was looking for this item and at no time were questions asked about whether my apartment could handle an air conditioner of this capacity. And being a single woman, I am not in the know about such things. If the questions had been posed, I would have probably gotten a less capacity air conditioner.

So far so good. Needed to replace a device in small server room and its been working great so far. Been running 2 months nonstop and havent had to drain. Air coming out has some force behind it and super quiet. Only drawback is you're not able to independantly direct the airflow.

I’m in Texas with a heat index due to hot temps and high humidity that has been 105° to 110° and sweltering. The set up was fast and easy for me as everything but tape was included. I was a bit skeptical that any machine could cool my large living room and kitchen down. Also, I was a bit worried because the lowest temperature that I could set it the machine to on the display is 64°...honestly I said oh #*%^ I made a mistake, however, after running it for only 20-30 minutes, I set a temperature gauge next to the vent and it registered 46°!!! Ice cold in no time. I’m also very impressed that even though it is a short distance to our TV it is relatively quiet despite having this much cooling power. So far I am very happy and believe it’s worth every penny so far.

So good! It took a while for this to come in, but managed to get this right in time to deal with an insane heatwave. I do wish that the window seal was more adaptable to varying window types (i.e. sizes and direction of slide; vertical vs horizontal)

Upstairs bedroom was always 4f warmer than downstairs. Got uncomfortable, so I purchased this unit. It is Soo efficient, it made the room a little too cold, had to adjust the temp up. It turns the ac off when not needed. Easy to use. Recommended for anyone looking for a ac unit to cool a bedroom. Single hose unit.
