Very Noisy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the worst air conditioners we have bought. So noisy but not a steady air conditioner noise it’s constantly shaking and rattling like somethings wrong with it. Was going to return it but it’s too late now. I would have fathered spent more more money for quality.

Not worth it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked well for about 3 days then started turning off on its own…(not on eco mode) then it started blowing out warm air. Definitely not worth the money it cost and the thing is too heavy to bring back to the store.

Not cold enough
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty dissapointed. Doesnt maintain blowing cold air. Probably because of all the modern tech and energy efficiency stuff. Its nice in most other ways, smart functions are simple straight forward and useful. But considering its size it doesnt even effectively cool a small room let alome the 700 sq. Ft. it says its rated for. Tldr: Not super cold, if thats what your concern is, look elsewhere.

Posted .Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us about your experience with this air conditioner. While we're glad you are enjoying most aspects of the air conditioner and have found the smart functions to be simple and useful, we do hate to hear you've had an issue with it not cooling enough. We know that would cause concern, and would like to assist. The unit does have 14,0000 BTUs of cooling power and is a good fit for rooms from 550 to 700 square feet; the unit actually would not be recommended for a smaller room, as an oversized unit may not cool a smaller room well. If the space does fit those dimensions, you may want to check that the air filter is clean and nothing is obstructing the air flow to the unit. Additional troubleshooting details are available in the manual, if you'd like to review. We hope this information is helpful for you, and your feedback will also be sent to our Design team for future review. If you have any other concerns or questions, we're always glad to help. -Sarah@GEA

GE air conditioner- junk
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just installed. Not simple but doable. Turned it on and it makes a horrible noise. Fan (??) hitting something?? Called GE service they said "not repairable- return it to the vendor". Had to uninstall it, take apart, re-box and now have to load it into my car drive miles to Best Buy, and get it into the store. Not a happy camper.

It’s great for a month!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve purchased this Air conditioner twice now and both have went out within a month after purchase. The first wouldn’t turn on at all, and now this returned purchase isn’t staying at temperature or letting me changes modes. Now back to see if I can exchange it for a 3rd time!

Inconsistent, bottoms out at 64 degrees
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit's thermostat bottoms out at 64 degrees. This unit's thermostat bottoms out at 64 degrees. This unit's thermostat bottoms out at 64 degrees. That alone should be enough to not spend over $500 on an air conditioner. However, this thing also freezes up overnight, requiring you to manually run it on fan for an hour to melt the coils. Not all the time mind you - but it's happened to me twice in less than a month of ownership. I have a ~550sq ft railroad apartment. Because of the 64 degree limit, it will cool the room it is in to around 68, then shut off the compressor so the room next to it (with a giant arch mind you not just a door) will be at 75. The other end of my apartment? Might as well not have an AC on at all, it's in the 80's. This thing sucks at doing its job. It blows COLD too when you turn it on, but the dumb thermostat and bad onboard controls regulating it make this a boat-anchor. I will never buy another GE air conditioner ever again.

Posted .Hi there, we're terribly sorry your air conditioner has been freezing and that it doesn't reach the temperatures you'd like. We can imagine how frustrating this is for you and we're happy to help. For the freezing, we suggest the following: 1) If there is ice on the coils, then the outdoor temperature may be below 70 degrees. The best way to prevent ice on coils is to not run the unit if the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees F. 2) Make sure the air filter has been cleaned in the last 30 days. 3) Switching the Fan speed to a lower setting for quieter operation but leaving the thermostat at a higher setting will result in not enough air flowing over the cooling coils. This lower airflow will not keep the moisture off the coils and in turn that moisture will freeze. We hope these tips help and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
