Control board failed in less than 2 years
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Control board failed in less than 2 years. Called GE and was told that it’s not serviceable and you are out of the only 1 year warranty for a $500 a/c unit. This is ridiculous! The unit wasn’t even ran hard. Never thought this would happen especially this quick, didn’t even get my moneys worth out of it.

We truly hate to hear your air conditioner broke after only a few days; we know how frustrating any issue with the unit would be, especially when it’s so new. We value your insights, as we always want to ensure we’re aware of any possible areas of concern. Posted .We are sorry to hear that our air conditioner does not meet your expectations. This is not what we would expect for it to fail in 15 days. We fully understand why you were so frustrated. We hope that you will consider purchasing GE Appliances in the future and allow us the opportunity to regain your faith in our products. Stay well and cool. Geoff@GEA

After 7 days of use, fan only runs in low speed
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unit has been installed exactly 1 week and is already broken. Fan will only run on slow speed. If you set the speed to medium or high, the fan stops blowing and the motor makes a loud hum. I bought a 2nd, slightly smaller unit (10,000 btu), for my bedroom. I'm glad I didn't install it yet.. Returning both units tomorrow.

Good when it worked
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This air conditioner lasted 28 days. Then the clean filter light came on and then the front panel started blinking on and off and then it was no more. Lucky for me I bought it from Best Buy and was able to return it. I have had window air conditioners for years and have never had one with such a poor outcome. It’s a shame too because when it worked it was amazingly cold. When it died it was useless and at this price point I expected way more..

Posted .Hi there, we're very sorry to hear your air conditioner isn't cooling as it should and that it's louder than expected. We can imagine your disappointment with these rising temperatures and we're happy to help. We recommend the following tips: 1) Make sure the air conditioner is properly sized for the room. 2) Check to make sure nothing is blocking the front of the air conditioner. When the unit is blocked by curtains, blinds, or furniture, the air flow is restricted and cooling performance will be affected. 3) Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot it will take longer to cool the room. 4) Check the thermostat setting. The highest setting will provide maximum cooling. We hope these tips are helpful and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA

My unit completely died! DO NOT BUY!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my air conditioner on the 25th of June and on 8/15 it completely shut off and won’t turn back on. I have even went through trouble shooting and all outlets still work, no breaker trip, etc. Just absolutely no response out of the display. Plug Reset switch still operates, so the board must be faulty. Do Not Buy! Keep in mind Best Buy 15 day return policy and GE will not warranty until 90 days. Hope you paid extra for geek squad!
