Pros: -Does what it advertises which is cools a large room up to 700sqft. It's more than sufficiently cool and the airflow is strong -WiFi Connectivity is nice (easier to initially connect/setup on Android than Apple) -A little nicer/more modern looking design than some other units -Features afforded by the smart app (i.e. power consumption, scheduling, location assist, controls, etc) -Hard to do better for the price (including the $40 Mass Save rebate) -Uses standard 115v 15A circuit (though it will trip easily if you have other things on the same circuit) Cons: -Temperature sensor jumps around and can vary as much as +/- 3 degrees from your target temp -Noise - I had a 8k BTU portable unit and while this is a 14k with higher airflow, it's just about as loud -Questionable build - there's a little rattle at high speed that sounds almost like a loose panel. The actual controls are push buttons but they're behind a flimsy feeling single piece of plastic so I wonder how long the buttons and plastic panel will hold up but luckily you also have a remote and WiFi App to control the functions and reduce wear. -Auto setting works but jumps around between fan speeds too frequently as well as engaging the compressor so if you're trying to sleep with it set on auto, it sounds like lots unnecessary activity on the unit -Don't adjust the target temp or scheduled temps while someone is sleeping as the unit beeps several times for each setting adjustment and your wife will surely be angry -The 4-way vents really don't do very much... they do barely ok for channeling air left and right but the up/down is about a half inch total of movement so don't expect much from that in terms of adjustability Overall -I didn't imagine myself having to spend $500 on a window a/c in 2020 but here we are since our central a/c broke during a heatwave (funny how things break when you need them...) -Definitely more effective & efficient than a portable unit of the same size if you can deal with a window unit -If you have a larger room to cool and/or you need something in a pinch temporarily, I have no problem recommending this unit. LG makes a 14k with dual inverters for about $20-$30 more and I'd probably go for that one if my need wasn't as urgent.

Does not put out like its supposed to and barely gets cold. The thermostat reads 65 and climbs up when its clearly 80 degrees in the room. Dont waste your money I have seen too many bad reviews afterwards when I should have researched. Also havent had it a month and the lights for MODE and FAN SPEED doesnt even illuminate. Stick with frigidaire

Purchased in August of 2020 to replace an older AC unit that I had for 10 years. I leave the unit installed in the window and use just the fan in the cooler months. Now January 2021 And the units fan won’t even kick on. You turn on the unit and it makes a humming sound but no fan... tried to switch on the air itself for Sh**** and giggles same thing. Very disappointed should have stayed with my old unit.

I will be able to post a review on this product because it has never been shipped to me. I scheduled delivery and installation and they changed the dates of delivery three times and made me take three days off waiting for them to show up but nobody did. So i cancelled the purchase and purchased it from other company which delivered it in three days and on time and without any cancellation.

I get it's hot out, but cooling is this things only job, and it died after less than a week. It won't power on. The web interface shows it's up and active, but the device will not respond to front panel, app, alexa or remote commands. It's reporting that it's set to 255 degrees.

Hi there, we're very sorry to hear your air conditioner has been freezing and not cooling as it should. We know how frustrating this must be and we're happy to help. If there is ice on the coils, then the outdoor temperature may be below 70 degrees. The best way to prevent ice on coils is to not run the unit if the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees F. If the temperature is close to 70 or you are unsure of the temperature, you can turn the thermostat to a warmer setting, and set the fan switch to the highest position. Also, make sure the air filter has been cleaned in the last 30 days. We hope these are useful tips and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA GE_Appliances

Hi - We are so very sorry for the issue you had with your new air conditioner. The most likely non-service related reason for an air conditioner to freeze up is running the unit on a lower fan speed setting in the evenings. In this case, there's not enough air flow to aid in the evaporation of the moisture that collects on the oil. Try turning the fan speed to Hi and turn the thermostat up a couple of degrees. This will in many cases prevent the unit from freezing up. We are glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue and that the unit is now working properly. All our best! Vikki@GEA GE_Appliances
