Posted .Hi - This is not the type of review we expect to receive on this model and are really sorry to hear this air conditioner is not performing well. This unit is designed to cool a room that is approximately 700 sq. ft. to a temperature as low as 64 degrees F. If your unit is not operating at this level we would recommend reviewing the warranty details on Page 17 of the Owner's Manual. We appreciate you taking the time to review your air conditioner. We're sorry to hear about your filter light and would like to provide some help.
Window room air conditioners with a Reset Filter pad have an LED indicator light. The LED light will turn on when the fan has accumulated 250 hours of run time. This is to provide a reminder to clean the air filter. You simply press the Reset Filter pad to turn off the LED indicator light and reset the accumulated run time. Our current ac is barely a year old and yet it began changing modes on its own, has suffered from freezing in the vents, and has now stopped working entirely all within a year. I wish it was more consistent because when it worked it cooled really well.

TOO NOISY

Does not cool apt of 685 sq ft despite saying it covers 700 sq ft. 2. VERY NOISY and Rattles after 6 months. Can not hear each other speak, had to turn off to talk on telephone, have to put up TV high when AC is on, imposes on neighbors. 3. Called GE out last week after a year of putting up with noise. Was told, Can do nothing about it, GE does not make internal replacement parts on this model, only parts for the external aesthetics. WHAT???!!! 4. Decided to buy New AC from different brand so can be quieter. $500 AC, lasted for 1 year of use. Not the best value. Would say, when it is on, the air is cool. But too Noisy, not possible to live with.

Worth the investment

I have it in the attic of my 100 year old home, and it stays nice and cool even with the sun beating down on the roof. I’m getting the 12k BTU version for my bedroom.

My Master BD RM is 20'x30' and I had my LG set at 60 degrees and on high, which cooled my room. I have my new GE set at 65 degrees and on med and my room is cold, very impressed by this AC
