Take my advice and just order the matching trim kit. We had a different microwave and i thought i could retro fit the trim kit to a new microwave. That ended as an epic disaster. Then found out the “new” microwave did not have a trim kit available. I had a teally hard time stomaching that a new trim kit could cost more than a new microwave with some models. Came across a GE profile microwave that was oerfect fit for my cabinet. The trim kit for this microwave was far less expensive than the microwave. Let me tell you that the installation was a piece of cake. The old trim kit and the screw holes for the new trim kit happened to line up perfectly. No need to hire an installer. It took me all of 15 minutes to install the base of the trim kit with a ohillips head screw driver.

Overall, this item appears acceptable, We used certain items from the kit to mount the microwave within a cabinet. However, we could not use the frame as the screw mounts to attach the frame to the cabinet were not on the corner areas themselves but were a bit inward. This placement caused the screws to go in at an angle and the opening was too large for the screws to take hold in the wood. So be aware of this.

I originally had difficulty selecting the right trim kit for my microwave (and the "suggested item" I was prompted for was NOT the right one...hence I had to return one and reorder this one). Generally it's a good looking kit. I really wish GE would just make the Slate microwave too so that there isn't a color difference between the black micro and the slate trim. I also find it absurd that it's so expensive. It's literally a couple pieces of plastic.

Bought this to go with a new GE convection microwave I was installing. I like the way it looks, and my wife is happy with it. My brother-in-law actually installed it, so I can't comment on ease of installation. I will note that the microwave and trim kit we replaced was a Maytag, and the old trim kit was larger than this one. There are small screw holes visible above and to the side of the new trim. I need to fill those holes to make it look perfect. Anyone who is replacing a different trim kit should probably check the dimensions of this one to see if it will cover existing holes.

Doesn’t fot exactly and there is a 1/8 inch gap between the microwave and frame. Looks ok but for the price it should look much better

This trim kit worked well with my new GE microwave. It is use inside my wall unit and matched the new wall oven.

Works okay, a little hard to screw in at an angle. Older version made of metal was more durable and showed less fingerprints.

Gives the unit a good built-in look but for what you're getting in product seems to me to be a little pricey. However, very easy to self-install.

Had to return this since it did not work with the microwave purchased. Make sure you select a microwave that is “built-in” compatible. Bestbuy, please make it easier to pick microwave and trim kit combinations.

the store person who had the measurements done and ordered the trim completely failed to order the proper item thus creating an incredible amount of difficulty for me, the customer. For this reason I will not recommending an appliance from Best Buy.

This convection microwave frame kit, including the brackets that secure the microwave to the opening, is all included. Fits GREAT!!

This is a great trim kit from GE. Make sure you measure your kitchen before you buy.
