Best Buy shipped a open box/defective product

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We received our order today and the box showed clear signs of having been opened before: the box was retaped, the styrofoam inside was broken, the plastic bag that the microwave was in was ripped, and there was no product manual. When we took out the microwave, the button to open the microwave door was defective and would not trigger the door to open. This was probably an item that a previous purchaser returned, perhaps because it was defective. It is crazy that, given the price we paid for this, Best Buy ships a clearly defective product to us. Now we have to take the time to drive to a Best Buy store to return this.

Decided on this one for our casita. Cabinet maker created an opening exactly this size, so it looks great. It does stick out past the upper cabinets so there is potential for hitting your head. Suggestion, remove drywall behind unit so you can push further back.

I called ahead of time to see if it was in stock and they had one open box special in the store. I rushed over and bought it and saved $$ at the same time. I am happy with my decision.

Don’t do it!

Best Buy only allows two weeks for returns, but since I couldn’t schedule an install until after the return date & I was too trusting & didn’t unpack the unit before the installer arrived, I’m now stuck with a $400 paper weight.
