    The microwave works ok. It does not seem to heat as quickly as you would expect from the wattage. It is poorly constructed with several pieces breaking in normal use. (Filter door). The fan does not move even close to enough air to do a good job.

    Wire between the door an unit broke after 2 years. Out of warranty and will cost $600 plus labor to fix.

    Megatron failed after 18 months

    The auto cook features work really well and the unit is very large. The door is so big you have to take a step back to dodge it as it opens. The user interface is a little unintuitive too, which I don't like, but I do prefer the buttons for OTR microwaves across the bottom like this one. The vents are a little too far back for my taste but they do offer high volume at 400 CFM which works well. Ours however failed after 18 months. The Geek Squad came out to diagnose it and determined that the megatron failed. Best Buy stood behind the product with the Total Tech and replaced it without hesitation. The lead time was a little too long for an identical replacement, otherwise we would have gotten the exact same model, but Bwst Buy got the full amount we paid to be applied to another unit. All Best Buy employees from the phone support (two different ones) to the field tech were amazing to work with.

    So I like to heat stuff up in the microwave. It does that -- very well. All the other crap it does? I don't care. Looks fine. Works fine. Whatever.

    One of my best purchases ever at best buy. I needed a new one and this one was perfect since I have GE profile appliances already. It really adds more of an appeal to my spectacular kitchen.

    Design flaw

    Hinge on inside of door unit cutting control cable Bad design flaw coming into focus , can this be repaired and is it worth it to fix Unit is 5 years old Do new units have same flaw with cable placement? Otherwise great unit

    Positives are it looks really good with all of my other new Profile appliances. Negatives are as others have said you can't see through the window, what a dumb design flaw. The I wish I could return the item moment for me is how it turns the vent fan on full blast when you cook something longer then about 10 minutes. There is no way to turn the fan off, you have to suffer through it. I did realize that it will cool quicker it you leave the door wide open after the food is cooked. I have purchased many a microwave in the past and I have never had one turn on a loud cooling fan.

    Avoid unless you like replacing every year!

    This microwave was installed in our new home by the builder - we did not choose it. We've had this microwave for just over a year - we moved into our new house in December of 2020 and this was a brand new microwave installed in our kitchen. It had been working fine since then, though the bulbs burned out after about 8 months. Then earlier this month (February 2022) it started randomly tripping the breaker when we tried to start a cook cycle. It got worse, to the point where it would trip the breaker as soon as we reset it. We called for a GE technician to come check it and he said that some internal relay was shot and it would be more expensive to fix than to replace. Thank goodness we had already bought an LG model as a replacement! I wasn't happy about GE appliances being supplied by the builder, but we didn't have a choice. I cannot recommend this item, even if it looks nice and (when it actually works) cooks food evenly.
