Replacement Microwave

Best Buy recommended the replacement GE microwave and trim kit (required). Had a couple miscues getting the trim kit to the install team. But once the install team was onsite it took them less than ten minutes to install everything and the microwave looks great.

The finished product looks great and matches with our GE double wall oven. However, I wish the price is cheaper. We had no choice because we had to buy one that matches the trim.

Modified the Existing Trim Kit to Fit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We bought this model to replace a GE Profile 2.2 cu. ft microwave with the built-in Trim Kit. The original GE lasted 8 years. The original frame would not work with the new microwave because the holes were in different places on the base of the microwave as was the design of the microwave base didn't work with the built-in base of the Trim Kit. We were able to modify by putting two 2x4s under the microwave to lift it higher. The microwave and the trim frame have a cheaper, flimsy feel compared to the originals especially when closing the door and pushing the button. GE did a good job simplifying the control panel which makes the oven with more usable cooking features. The interior of this oven is dark gray, which makes the interior light appear to be not as bright -- we can't even watch the food cooking by looking through the window. But, overall we are glad GE still makes an oven and a frame so that this oven appears as a set to fit our cabinet space.

We are glad you were able to get your trim kit to work, however there are specific trim kits to kit to fit your exact model properly and that information will be listed in the installation guide on page 1. If you don’t have the guide it can be found on the website.
