    Microwave failed to heat after 1st year

    We bought the GE Profile PEB2772DLBB as part of 3 GE products purchased for a major kitchen remodel (cooktop and built-in oven also). We purchased the oven in May of 2019; our installer did not put it in and have it operational until December of 2019. So we just passed our year warranty mark, but have only actually operated it for 8 months. That latter part is important, because there is no way a microwave's magnetron ( the part responsible for heating) should break after only 8 months of use. While Best Buy and GE may have us on the technicality of the warranty being over a year old, I hope they will both think about the thousands we spent on GE kitchen equipment and do the right thing in term of either repairing or replacing this microwave. So for these reasons, there is no way we can rate this product highly. Consumer Reports and others publications say that failure of the magnetron is typical with this model. Beware.

    The microwave itself works fine. However if there are not any lights on in your kitchen you will never be able to see the control panel. I have no idea why GE thought it would be a good idea to not backlight the control panel. It makes it exceedingly inconvenient to use anytime you want to use it.

    You would think this product should last more than 3 years. Purchased 2/20 to replace similar GE model that lasted 5 years.. This one only lasted 3. same issue with burned magnitron cover. Don't recommend

    Door latch failure

    The door latch for this microwave was very stiff from day one. Now it is not working after only 2months of use. Unable to return or exchange at Best Buy due to 14 days return/exchange policy for major appliances.... I already submitted a service request with GE via email.

    GE Microwaves are terrible

    This is the second time in a year that a brand new GE Microwave has failed me. Both times the latch wouldn't work and I couldn't open the door. It was replaced once when they couldn't get the parts, then after a few months the same thing happened to the replacement. I waited 6 weeks for parts and the latch just failed again after 2 weeks. What a piece of junk! Will never purchase a GE appliance again. (Still waiting for them to repair or replace) Have spent hours on the phone waiting to speak to G E Customer Service.

    Worst I've owned. Replacement was also bad.

    Automated cooking functions don't work. Potato button warms, but doesn't cook potato. Butter melt function boils sticks of butter. Reheat makes stuff steaming hot and further cooks. The glass platter inside broke on its own with no drops. Door open button quit working. Replaced this once and had same issues.

    Poor workmanship, not worth the money

    This microwave is not worth your money! The first time we used it, we immediately noticed that the door was hard to open. On the following day, the door latch broke and so we could not open the microwave, let alone use it. A service technician came and ordered some parts. After the technician fixed the microwave, we still noticed how hard it was to open the door. A few days later, the door opener and a pair of springs popped out. I put them back in, but this time the door would not open. After a few pushes, I heard something inside the microwave snapped. The same technician just came and ordered the same part! He will come back on Monday to fix it. And after that? Who knows, this entire process could be continuously repeated until the warranty expires, after which we might purchase a different microwave from a different brand. Very frustrating and a waste of my time and money. We have barely used this brand new appliance, which was delivered less than two weeks ago. Save yourself time and money by not buying this product.

    Microwave door is stuck after a few days of use, unusable now. I am finding other reviews online on other websites that suggest this is an ongoing problem. This bad microwave is going back!

    Stopped working after 3 years

    This microwave stopped working after 3 years (doesn’t power on) and now needs to be replaced. Not a great level of reliability at this price point.

    Door does not open after about 4 months of use

    Disappointed with this microwave. We had a previous GE microwave for over 14 years and it worked great. The only reason we changed it is to match the new oven.

    The only issue with this microwave is that one has to push the button very hard to open the door.
