GE Profile Refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We live the refrigerator, but had some issues when it arrived. After being set up and fully stocked, we realized the freezer was accumulating frost everyday. This was from a seal around the freezer door that was crushed and compromised. At the same time, the ice maker began making a screeching noise as it ran. We went back to Best Buy and they were great about exchanging it for a new unit. Our frustration was that we had to schedule another delivery as well as empty the unit completely… again. When the second unit arrived and the installation was about 50% completed, we realized there was a ding in the top corner of the door, a large dent in the middle drawer door and the refrigerator door seal was crushed and compromised just like the other unit. After speaking with customer service, they agreed to send out a THIRD refrigerator 2 days later. We had to make arrangements for yet another delivery and set up. When the 3rd unit arrived, we inspected it before they brought it in. We noticed there was no pin/screw on the top of the door. It was only held on the unit by the magnet strip. The driver called dispatch and they agreed to use a pin from the 2nd unit that was already on their truck. It ended up working and the unit is now fully functional and working in our kitchen. It just took a while to get a fully functional fridge and we are weary that something else may go wrong. Other than that, we love the size and functionality.

Great refrigerator!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this refrigerator so far! It seems to have so much more room than the side by side I had, and I love the refrigerated drawer. I also love the LED lighting when you open the doors. It’s so easy to see everything. The only negative I might have is the amount of ice the ice maker holds, and the fact you can’t see how much is there unless you open the ice maker. If you have company it would probably be a good idea to make some ahead and bag it yourself, or go buy a bag to have on hand. We ran out of ice when my family was over for Mother’s Day.

Such a beautiful fridge
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Functional and absolutely gorgeous inside and out. It feels like a nice purchase- high end! Ive had a month. With plastic edges in the seams from the protective coating- we did a quick brush-over with a lighter and they are no more. My only preference is that the ice maker worked more easily and faster- its not very smooth

Really nice with one hangup.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks amazing in our kitchen. Had an issue with the top freezer drawer not freezing things correctly which meant i had to throw some food away. I must have had the door open on accident but the door open alarm didnt sound. Great product just make sure you shut the freezer door nice and firm.

Posted .Hello. We’re glad to hear you overall like the refrigerator and that it looks great in your kitchen! But we do regret that you had an issue with the freezer drawer and lost some food – we know that must have been frustrating. The Door Alarm feature is meant to help preserve food by making sure you’re alerted if the door/drawer is left ajar; the alarm won’t sound if the door is open between ½” to 3”, so we do recommend making sure the door is completely closed. If you have any further issues with items not staying frozen, you may want to make sure the gasket is sealing properly. We also have an article on our GE Appliances website titled “Refrigerator – Not Cooling Enough” that has tips for what to try when the refrigerator/freezer isn’t cooling well; if you need to view that, you can do so by searching for the title on our website and clicking the Support tab. We hope this is helpful. We’re confident this refrigerator will serve your needs well for a long time to come, and we’re wishing you all the best! -Sarah@GEA

Freezer wont close properly. Got it replaced.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I got the fridge, I first noticed the freezer wont freeze. My meat was still soft. So I adjusted the setting to -3 degrees to make it colder. Then I noticed frost inside. This is a modern fridge, it should be no frost. I investigated and found out that the bottom freezer does not fully close. So 3 days of having this item, I called best buy. They suggested they could send a technician on Aug 2 or replace the item on Aug 3. My husband and I said we want the item replaced. It think we made the right choice. Because a few days after the call, I hear loud sounds like the freezer is working harder than it should because of the imperfect seal. I also see drops of water at the bottom. The problem was getting worst. Come Aug 3, they replaced our fridge. And this time around our fridge it perfect. I love it and I think it is worth the price we paid.

I wish I had bought something else.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could do it over, I would buy a different refrigerator for several reasons: 1. After delivery, I was taking the protective film off the stainless doors but the sheets of stainless were wrapped BEFORE assembly apparently because it is impossible to remove the plastic at the seams. This creates a "ratty" appearance that should not be in a product that expensive. 2. None of the slides on the freezer compartment or the middle compartment open smoothly. They seem to stick and rub like some cheap drawer. 3. The ice maker/water dispenser in the door seems to greatly reduce the useable internal volume of space for food unlike some other brands. 4. The actual volume of ice it is capable of producing is fine for two people, but not for entertaining, i.e holidays. It's my own fault for going for one on sale instead of gettjng a Samsung or KitchenAid for a little more.

Posted .Hello- We are very sorry to hear you're having these issues. We can understand how frustrating it is when a new appliance doesn't meet your expectations. The most effective way to remove adhesive left from film, packing tape, stickers, tags or labels on a new appliance and ensure no damage is done to the finish of the product is to apply a little cooking or mineral oil. You can also use some rubber tipped needle nose pliers to help remove the protective film. In regard to the drawers being hard to open, you can use paraffin wax or petroleum jelly and rub it along the edges of the entire gasket. Paraffin wax is used for canning and is safe for use around food. We will share this feedback with our engineering and design teams. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA

Disappointment with GE Refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ice maker stopped working within a year of delivery. I discovered it was Manufactured November 2020. GE Delivered to Best Buy June 27, 2021. I thought I was purchasing a new refrigerator when I took delivery on September 27, 2021. Very disappointed. My 21yr old GE Profile refrigerator still works including the ice maker.

Happy On Day 15.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the refrigerator for 14 days. So far I am pleased after a hiccup on day 8. Freezer had frost between freezer drawer and lower freezer area and I could feel cold through door seal. Best Buy suggested returning appliance as it was within their 15 day return policy. Instead I contacted GE repair (and glad I did!!!). GE technician came in within 2 days. He knew immediately that the problem was that the freezer drawer was NOT attached properly. He removed drawer and attached it correctly. This took less than 10 minutes. As per the overall features: So far I am at least 80% pleased with design. Very happy with adjustable glass shelves. Having prior GE refrigerator, side by side (17 years), this was a feature that I looked for. However, door in door immediately disappointed me. An opened corked wine bottle would not fit and that shelf was NOT ADJUSTABLE. A Geek squad man jokingly said, "That would not be a problem for me as I would finish the wine right away." Not funny! Also: the items in the door in door are not as cold as I enjoy liquids, the ice cubes are small and ice bin maximum is certainly not for entertaining. Takeaway, you get more refrigerator space. I love the french door wide shelves, lighting is pretty, auto water fill is a treat, easy to wipe off smudges, and appliance is beautiful.

Overall a good unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a good fridge. We did a lot of research before buying this one, and in general it seems like every brand has certain downfalls. First thing to know about this unit is GE Appliance is now owned by a Chinese company, Haier. So if you want something built and owned American, this isn't it. Pros: Unit has consistent temperatures. It is also very quiet, noticeably so compared to our old Whirlpool. The door shelves are also designed well and allow for big sized condiment bottles etc. The extra drawer is nice for keeping sodas and meats/cheeses a little cooler than the main compartment. The crisper drawers also seem to keep produce a little fresher than our old one as well. The back wall is a big light which is a lot nicer than one would expect. It really feels luxurious and makes it easier to find things. Neutral: The door in door seems like a gimmick to me. It doesn't keep any more air in than opening the whole door really so I just don't really understand the point. My wife likes it though. Cons: The unit runs a little warm. We have it set at 34 (as low as it allows) but the fresh food area stays at about 37. While this is fine as far as being safe etc, it's annoying that it doesn't cool to where it should. It should also be noted that we only know this through the use of thermometers because the unit does not report the current temp anywhere. Conversely to the main section, the middle drawer seems to run a little cooler than how it's set. However, the biggest downfall of this unit is the ice/water dispenser. The dispenser will give you 1 8oz glass of cold water before it starts coming out at room temp. Our old fridge would give glass after glass of cold water. Additionally, the ice maker makes smaller cubes that I would like and worse, appears to partially crush them even when set on cubed. Also, the Wi-Fi is pretty useless, basically gives you the same controls as on the front panel, though it does have Turbo Cool and Turbo Freeze modes buried in the app. Overall, we are happy with the unit and would buy it again. It seems that all brands have certain things you just have to deal with. For the GEs it's the warm water and kinda crappy ice dispenser. If you can deal with that, the rest of the fridge is very good.

GE hits a home run.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this refrigerator. The LED backlighting makes it easy to see everything. The extra drawer is convenient and you don't have to open the entire compartment to get a small item. The ice maker in the door makes it more roomy inside when you have large casserole dishes. The only complaint is that the ice dispenser motor is a little loud when you are getting ice cubes but the auto sensor for water dispensing is awesome.

very well lit refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced an LG 4 door with this model of GE. Love the sensor water dispenser. Ice dispenses a little wild and misses the glass occasionally. Open door alarm goes off once in awhile even though the doors are closed. Opening and closing the left door solves the issue. Keeps food cold and fresh. The wall of lights gives great view of the interior. Would recommend this model.

Great except for the ice dispenser
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this fridge. It looks great, especially with the back light (which is adjustable) and the middle drawer. I took a star off because of the ice maker. Little ice chips go everywhere when you use it, even when the glass is at the top of the dispenser. Does not matter if it’s on cubed or crushed. It’s pretty annoying. Install team was also great.

Good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The refrigerator has several key features including the back light wall, temperature control in the freezer and deli draw. Cons include the ice maker ( noisy and makes smaller cubes). Location of the ice maker limits the space for medium size bottles ( catsup, salad dressings).

Very good fridge; terrible delivery
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This GE Profile refrigerator has mostly exceeded my expectations. We think it actually keeps our food fresher for longer than our previous refrigerator. We appreciate the separate deli drawer with its changeable temperature and the fact that we don’t have to open both refrigerator doors to get the food/drinks stored in there. One negative: the ice maker produces very, very little (do better, GE!). It does, however, offer choice of crushed or cubed ice. Best Buy delivery was terrible. The delivery guys just wanted to drop off and leave. They tried to tell me that the fridge was level when the doors were askew and it obviously was not. Then said that we had no valve for the water line so they couldn't install that. We do have a water valve, which is in the basement and is up to code. Then requested a bucket and towel to hook up the water line, but would not wait 30 seconds while we retrieved them, opened the line, and sprayed water all over our brand new hardwood floor. Then said he could not hook it up because of water pressure in the line. It was just the water left in the line, but the valve had been turned off. (Do better BB! Get your own delivery crew rather than third-party contractors!) Be aware that the hinge on top of the door goes back from the front quite a way, so allow room for it in your height calculation.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love our new refrigerator. It does somewhat irritate me that when you open the freezer it automatically pulls the snide freezer drawer out.

Refrigerator is awesome - ice maker - not so much!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had 2 of these refrigerators in 2 weeks! The first one's ice make made wet ice so it clumped together. When you asked for cubes, it came out like a snow cone. So the 2nd refrigerator was installed, the ice was not so wet, but when you ask for cubes, it comes out like chopped ice. GE sent a technician who said it was because I opened the refrigerator door too often. there are only 2 adults in my home and we do not open this refrigerator any more than our older refrigerator - the ice never stuck together and never came out like a snow cone or chopped!

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Door shelves are fixed height and don’t hold a lot. Ice sprays everywhere unless you hold cup right up to top. Keeps things cold and we like the space.
