We have had this unit for over 30 days now so I feel its safe to review. This frig is AWESOME!! Family of five, two adults and three 18 year olds. We fell in love with a similar LG item, with that large middle convertible temperature drawer and ice maker in the door. Spent hours researching reviews prior to buying. THANK GOD!! LG has had severe compressor issues for YEARS! People reporting new deliveries going bad in days and then being stuck under warranty and without a frig for sometimes 3 months! Back to the drawing board. Samsung. Research said NOPE!! Zillions of people reported icemakers problems, serious ones, dating back years and still unresolved. Freezing and floods! Nope. Checked out this GE with the same door and drawer layout and the reviews were mostly positive with an extremely high percentage saying they would recommend to a friend. Unlike the LG which I think only 53% said they would recommend! YIKES! And its been even better than we dreamed of. LOVE this frig! TROUBLE FREE! And, the features are amazingly useful and not gimmicky. Favorite things: #1 Convertible temperature drawer. BEST thing ever! for us, all cheese and lunch meat and bread and other sandwich stuff is kept in it at the 37 degree temp. Never have to go into the frig and rifle through the overstuffed meat drawer anymore. Its all conveniently at your finger tips. Condiments, all in the door in door swing out tray. SO convenient and easy to use. Never even have to open the doors to the main frig. #2 This seemed gimmicky but again, best ever. The entire back of the frig is LED lighting. It illuminates EVERYTHING easily so nothing goes overlooked in the back. It truly is an amazing and practical feature. #3 Having the entire ice maker mechanics in the door and NOT occupying frig cavity space. This alone leaves so much extra space in the cavity, allowing more flexible use of shelves. Our old frig was packed i could never find anything. This one, I have NEVER had a frig with EXTRA space on the shelves like we do this one. I'm always looking inside thinking we need to go to the market its so spacious. #4 Ice Maker is much better than expected. It makes smaller cubes than old school frigs do. BUT, so do the other brands. We have 5 adults at home, still, full time AND we are a high ice usage family living in the desert. Yes, we do sometimes run out of ice but not as often as one would think. We just keep two old school ice cube trays in the pull out freezer to supplement when we need to. Yes, it chops up the whole cubes a little bit, but just hold you cup or bottle up close to the dispenser and it catches it all. AND, there is a really positive reason it dices them a little. Because the gears are actually METAL and NOT plastic!! Hallelujah!! Metal gears on high use under stress mechanical parts, whoda thunk you could find that in 2021 disposable world? #5 Freezer Drawer. To be honest, we had never had a French Door frig and were reluctant because most we have seen the freezer was an afterthought where stuff became buried only to be discovered years later. This drawer has been awesome too. The top sliding interior drawer and little extra storage space in the front of the drawer make all the difference. Ice cream and other goodies in the top slider and the bagged dinner stuff in the bottom. I have found this to actually be an improvement over our old side by side in so many ways, its underrated. No more grabbing the ice cream only to have a frozen ice pack fall out on your foot and break a toe. Actually happened to one of us! Its pretty stealth actually, so you can go on late night ice cream binges and nobody else knows you have even opened the frig.

What an outstanding refrigerator. It has been over a year and I don't know how I lived without it for so long. Pros: Great lighting - Open the French Door and the interior illuminates so you can easily find things. Soft Close Drawers - Love these. Shelves and bins have plenty of room. The door-in-door option is great for quick grab-and-go items. The deli drawer keeps all the most commonly used items in one easy place Freezer storage and drawers are great. Lots of room Ice maker and water dispenser - Automatically lights up at night when you walk up to it. The fingerprints are still visible and not sure there is anything that can be done but it is much better than the last fridge we had. Easy to clean. Easy to move shelves around. CONS: The filter door doesn't want to stay closed. It constantly pops out The ice bin doesn't hold much ice, to be sure to get a bag of ice if you are having guests on a hot summer day. Nothing that would take away from a 5-star rating. Overall: Impressive and highly recommend.

Excellent appliance, very quite and adds great appeal to the kitchen. In addition to being very spacious enough to hold large but needed items in the door. Love the lighting the fingerprint touch-free stainless steel effect.

Very happy with this refrigerator so far! It seems to have so much more room than the side by side I had, and I love the refrigerated drawer. I also love the LED lighting when you open the doors. It’s so easy to see everything. The only negative I might have is the amount of ice the ice maker holds, and the fact you can’t see how much is there unless you open the ice maker. If you have company it would probably be a good idea to make some ahead and bag it yourself, or go buy a bag to have on hand. We ran out of ice when my family was over for Mother’s Day.

Spacious. Quiet. I love the lighting inside. Snack drawer can be converted to a freezer, but we love it for deli items and snacks. Freezer has an additional drawer to separate items which makes access easier. Fridge Door has a swing out shelf for easy access to condiments without having to open the whole fridge to get to it. Good design.

We love this refrigerator!!!! Our LG quit working (compressor went out) after back-to-back power outages. We researched and thought we had our minds made up then went to Best Buy and happened to see this one. It was delivered a week ago and we could not be happier. So much room!! The shelving layout and door-in-door access for frequently used items is great. The drawer above the freezer is perfect for cheeses, lunch meat, beverages, wine, etc. and the lighting is amazing. When you open the door it's dim and then gradually gets brighter. The entire interior back lights up so you can easily see everything. The freezer has a sliding panel to keep things separate and organized. It also makes plenty of ice which was a real problem with the LG. The installer spoke very highly of the GE brand and mentioned that most of the refrigerators that they take away are Samsung or LG. We're sticking with American made products from now on.

I researched all the descriptions and customer "quips" on several models and solidly decided on this one. It has not disappointed me in any way--in fact it has features that I wasn't even expecting! I had also stressed that it would not fit the opening, but it slid right in with amazing precision and replaced my 27-year old fridge like it was custom-made! The back-lighting shows up the contents so well and lifts my spirits every time I open the door. (So glad I chose this one!)The Geeks who installed it were skillful and courteous, even beyond my expectations, so I have been, and will continue to be, a loyal fan of Best Buy!

The refrigerator works great so far, and I really like the backlighting inside, however, the right refrigerator door sits higher than the other when closed, which doesn’t look good. Disappointing for such an expensive refrigerator.

Very nice fridge and quiet compared to our last one. Like the middle drawer as we use it for our beverages and keep it nice and cold. Fridge is well lit and lots of space inside.

Great fridge overall. Love the middle section with its separate temp control. The back wall lights is awesome, I can see everything inside very clearly. Noise is not an issue, just a low hum when it’s on. Very adequate space inside. The build quality is great too.

Omg, this is the BEST refrigerator. The full back lighting is so beautiful, just like the entire refrigerator is beautiful. Love the Autofill and everything about this refrigerator. I 100% recommend this one. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Its a great refrigerator. We love the auto water dispenser. The lights inside as well are much brighter than the other brands we were looking .

I like it because of the different features as far as the auto fill with the water. lights in the back of the fridge. Lots of room .

Beautiful fridge - lots of space, ambient interior lighting, lots of freezer space, and the ice dispenser and auto sensor for the water dispenser is fantastic.

Love this fridge! The back light is amazing for finding things. Display shows how many ounces of water dispersed. Water has auto sensing which is amazing. Love everything about this fridge.

The fridge is really nice and spacious. It has great lighting and the ice maker is very quiet. Unfortunately mine had dents when initially installed, but it got replaced a week after.

Absolutely beautiful! This fridge is well built and beautiful. It has all the compartments we need for out family. Its stunning inside with the backlight. The ice maker is well placed that it doesn’t take up a lot of space. And the wifi function is very handed to control stuff from your iphone! A well priced mid luxury fridge.

A quality product. Super bright full back LED light. Nice sliding drawers. Extra slide out drawer is very convenient and can be temperature controlled.

I have had the refrigerator for 14 days. So far I am pleased after a hiccup on day 8. Freezer had frost between freezer drawer and lower freezer area and I could feel cold through door seal. Best Buy suggested returning appliance as it was within their 15 day return policy. Instead I contacted GE repair (and glad I did!!!). GE technician came in within 2 days. He knew immediately that the problem was that the freezer drawer was NOT attached properly. He removed drawer and attached it correctly. This took less than 10 minutes. As per the overall features: So far I am at least 80% pleased with design. Very happy with adjustable glass shelves. Having prior GE refrigerator, side by side (17 years), this was a feature that I looked for. However, door in door immediately disappointed me. An opened corked wine bottle would not fit and that shelf was NOT ADJUSTABLE. A Geek squad man jokingly said, "That would not be a problem for me as I would finish the wine right away." Not funny! Also: the items in the door in door are not as cold as I enjoy liquids, the ice cubes are small and ice bin maximum is certainly not for entertaining. Takeaway, you get more refrigerator space. I love the french door wide shelves, lighting is pretty, auto water fill is a treat, easy to wipe off smudges, and appliance is beautiful.
