I love the fridge itself- just need a good one that doesn’t do this. For 3k, it shouldn’t.

Good fridge, slow ice maker.

It is a great fridge, lots of room and options for storage, but the reason for the 3 star review is because the ice maker is extremely slow and the cubes don't seem to form fully.

Posted .There are various factors that influence the speed at which an icemaker produces ice. If all the ice was used, it may take a little time to replenish the supply. However, if your icemaker is producing ice too slowly, the problem is likely caused by one of the following; a clogged water filter, freezer temperature too warm, low food load, or a restriction in the water line. Great refrigerator!

I’ve got to get used to the bottom drawer freezer. I love the “no fingerprint” stainless! The refrigerator drawer and the door-in-door is proving to be very useful. The ice-maker makes nice sized cubes ( bigger then my last one.) All in all it’s a beautiful refrigerator.

It takes about 18-24 hours for the ice maker to start making ice, but it’s been working like a champ after the first dump. The middle drawer is perfect for keeping your favorite beverages cool and ready to drink.

But the story doesn’t end there. The first unit we purchased was a floor model and the price was reduced. It seems it was crushed at the warehouse or during transport and was not repairable. The store offered to replace it,” at the extra cost of a new one”. So we paid the full price. The fridge was delivered and we loved it. Right up to when it just stoped running. Just my luck my $4,000 dollar unit died after three weeks. We are now waiting for the repairs,

In use for over a month now. Best Buy matched to a competitor’s lower price and was the lowest at the time. Refrigerator is built well, voluminous and with great features. Overall a good buy for the features and price.

The replacement took a week to be delivered and it appears to be working. The ice delivery is not well designed - the chute is way too large for the size of the ice cubes. You have to hold your cup up to where it touches the chute which could be unsanitary if we don't clean well or the cup rim isn't clean. You then have to awkwardly push the panel behind the cup to dispense ice since pushing the cup against the panel will move the cup opening back from the chute. Even then ice pieces still somehow scatter all over because there will always be a gap between the chute and the top of the cup. The autofill is a good idea, but is hit-and-miss. Sometimes we get a full glass, others it stops halfway (even with the same glass). There is a little "song" that sometimes plays to indicate the autofill is done, but that doesn't always work, either. We also miss the "precise fill" option from our previous Profile refrigerator where we could choose the amount to be dispensed in cups or oz.

The GE Profile Swings for the Fences but Misses

After visiting a few stores and reading a few reviews, we landed on the GE Profile™ 27.9 Cu. Ft. Smart Fingerprint Resistant 4-Door French-Door Refrigerator with Door In Door. It's now been a month or two of using it and I can say I don't like it as much as I liked the LG. It's nearly 3cuft smaller, the freezer door isn't smooth to shut, and the "door in a door" isn't nearly as useful as i thought it would be. The middle drawer has a divider that is absolutely useless and clunky. On the plus side, I do like the lighted back panel at the back of the fridge. And the freezer compartment is laid out well.

The small drawer to keep meat and cheeses in is so smart! One issue has been that the door to open the bulk ice container had frozen shut, it needs to be pulled open by the seal, as there is condensation freezing it closed. Not sure how to change that issue
