Damaged Refrigerator

Still waiting on replacement door! The Geek Squad did not move old refrigerator to laundry room as outlined in contract. Told us they were only allowed 15 minutes for deliveries!!!

Bought It Twice - Failed TWICE

Barely a month into owning it the freezer was springing a leak which caused ice buildup and leaking. The issues grew on as the rest of it began to loss temp quickly. Pair that with the water line breaking causing $4,000 in water damage and remediation. After Best Buy tried fixing it on three occasions, they finally decided it would be est to exchange it for a new one. Fast forward to second refrigerator and not even a month in - we received it in early Novemeber 2023 and by December the Freezer failed and all of our food spoiled. The GE team is impossible to schedule and when they came out they missed some majors erros that Geek Squad found when they checked it out the next day. All for Ge to say the repair will take 2 weeks to get thre parts for it. As we waited the rest of thr unit began to fail. The entire refrigerator hit 60° so now we have a giant box of spoiled food. This is unacceptable for a refrigerator at this price point.

9 months old, problems, +14 days to fix

The ice maker is no longer cold enough to freeze water to make ice. Called GE to schedule an appointment since it's under warranty. We had to wait 5 days for the quickest appointment. On the appointment date they gave us a 4 hour window and no one showed up. Called them again and now we have to wait 9 more days for the next appointment. So if you want a $3k appliance that begins to have problems in less than 9 months and lousy support, this is the product for you

Died after 2 days

Finally saved up enough to afford our first new fridge . Picked this top of the line model for looks and features. Freezer never got below 32F. Ice maker failed soon after, all in under first 48 hours. Buyer beware. Have Best Buy test unit prior to delivery. Absolutely unacceptable at this price point. Had inspection “pass” stickers all over it. 2020’s finest example of made in china garbage tarnishing a brand people used to trust. Also note that this is not a typically “in stock” model. So if your fridge goes the same route as mine did, except a week at the minimum before delivery of replacement is possible. 5 stars go to Best Buy for expediting replacement. They even mentioned GE is not the brand it used to be and they see these “lemons” from them about once a month. Nobody can work on these things either. My options were replace or scrap since they consider this model “non-serviceable”. This is the fridge equivalent of a one time use plastic grocery bag. Local store had so little confidence in quality of GE products that they ordered two new fridges so they could pretest both for me ahead of time because they expected another failure. And guess what! The replacement second pretest fridge had the same problem! That’s 2/3 dead on arrival fridges!!! Do better GE. Replacement is working as expected, for now, but I have serious trust issues. Thanks for spoiling all the food I fought off the hoarders to get during the Coronavirus GE. You could potentially kill someone GE by destroying all of their food during quarantine. A $3k fridge shouldn’t require a $500 warranty for bare minimum piece of mind that it can do the only thing it was designed to do.. COOLING FOOD!
