Temperature will not get below 44 degrees and food is not considered safe at that temp. I strongly suspect that this is a problem with many of these units based on the number of customers that had or are having this problem. Unless you purchase a refrigerator thermometer you will never know about this issue since this unit will never show anything except the set points! Also, there is no air filter in this high priced unit either. With this fridge set at 34, drawer at 33 and freezer at 0, the actual temperatures are 44 in the fridge(unacceptable), 30 degrees in the drawer and -4 degrees in the freezer. The unit probably has enough cooling capacity, but the cooling distribution of air flow is totally messed up! Most similar products have "twin Cooling" or multiple evaporators. I called GE about these issues and they initiated a service appointment, however the earliest time was over a week out. Seems they are very busy!! Based on my experience thus far and that of several other reviewers, I believe this unit will be going back to Best Buy. Very disappointed as this was the most expensive Fridge we have ever purchased!!

Posted .Hi there, and thanks for contacting us. We hate to hear you’re having cooling issues with your refrigerator, and are upset that this model doesn’t have an air filter. We always want to provide a great product, and regret any inconvenience you’ve had. Normally, we would recommend a temperature range between 34 and 42 degrees F in the refrigerator section and between -5 and +8 degrees F in the freezer for self-defrosting models, and 5 to 7 degrees F for non self-defrosting models. Regarding measuring the temperature, we would recommend doing so by placing a bulb type or candy thermometer that is capable of reading below zero temperatures directly into a container of food or liquid that’s been in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours; we don’t recommend measuring the internal air, as opening the door can cause that temperature to fluctuate. Delivery was a joke they took the front door to the house off to get the fridge in. And it still didn’t fit!!! My wife told them to use the 6 foot French doors that open right to the kitchen but they insisted to try the front and it didn’t work. When they got the fridge in the kitchen it was the wrong one. So luckily they grabbed the wrong one off the truck. The seals on the freezer don’t work and is forming iced in the freezer. Called about the warranty they said they would be out in two weeks. Not happy at all once the fridge was sold to me nobody CARES!
