Did not have to read manual :) Its a bit expensive but I think worth the price. Love that the grill is cast iron rather than aluminum.

Posted .We recommend putting a small amount of vegetable or canola oil on a soft cloth or paper towel and rub onto the left and right edge of the racks, making sure they are lightly coated. Be careful not to use too much. Doing so will help the racks slide easier. -Vikki@GEAppliances
