Texas heat
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this window unit. We replaced an a/c with this model. After starting up the Clear view, I went outside to take care of somethings. When entering the cabin I have to check that it was on. Almost no noise at all. Yet the room was pleasantly cool in just a few minutes. In Texas heat that was very surprising!!! Cleaning the filters only takes about 2-3 minutes. The filter for the water can be tricky. Grabbing hold is a little difficult when it is seated correctly. A pair of needle nose pliers helps me. If your power goes out, don’t worry. The Clear View starts back up as soon as power is restore. That was a concern for me as I have pets. Hope this information helps. I have purchased a second unit as a gift to my daughter.

Icy but quiet. Truly amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OMG Becky! This thing is dope. It's so icy and that is absolutely necessary since I'm in Texas. Easiest install on a window unit I've ever done. Also, the quiet mode on this thing is truly super quiet. Only little quirk and one I don't even care about: I did have to drill a hole in the bottom of the outside directly underneath the fan rotors. It holds water and makes noise. As soon as I added a drain hole, I can't even hear the A/C over the hum of my gaming computer fans. And I can see it my window for the first time in 4 years. Best window unit on the market.

Great AC in a compact form factor
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This AC unit has been fantastic and has been a lifesaver this whole summer. Living in a second floor apartment with no AC was absolutely miserable, and we have been extremely pleased with this GE unit. The install was very simple (no mounting or screws required) and the unit is reasonably quiet and very effective. We love this unit and have already recommended it to our friends who are in the market for a window AC unit.

Its cool.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this ac is different from what i am use to, eg. now i can see through my window, 95 percent of my window!!, after spending 5 minutes trying to figure everything out, the set up was pretty easy, this ac is pleasing to the ear, peace at last, if you’re holding back on buying this unit, do yourself a favor and buy the 12,000 btu or higher if they have it because it is better to have more power than you need than not enough if you ever need it.

Excellent AC but the software can be cantankerous
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easiest window ac installation I have ever done and the system for selling the sides is so much better than the accordion stuff normally found with conventional window air conditioners. Super quiet operation in my office. It's so quiet I can talk on the phone sitting right next to it. I have 4 GE window ACs all wifi controlled. The only down side is the GE software is a bit buggy. It works and has improved over the years but still could use improvement. Don't let that stop you from buying this unit or any GE window ac with wifi. Just understand to be able to operate the any of the GE devices with wifi from anywhere the commands go through their servers. Oh almost forgot. Only one phone has control so that means say the wife can't control it. The software is what keeps this from 5 stars.

Posted .We're thrilled to hear how pleased you are with your Profile air conditioner. The SmartHQ app is designed to be accessible by more than one user, so that up to 20 devices within your home can control your connected appliances. Connected appliances are synced to one individual GE Appliances Account to ensure security when initially setting up your connections. After that, multiple users can log into that individual Account in the SmartHQ app using the same email and password, even if they are on different phones. Your wife just needs to have the SmartHQ on her phone and use the same email and password used to set-up the Account.

Nice Design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A really nice design. Not too heavy, however bit unwieldy to get over the sill and in place. Does a great job cooling, however not as quiet as it could be. The plastic front panel likes to buzz when the compressor is running, which I fixed with a little cloth tape. Seems like the sort of thing that should have already been there. Other than that, it's been a great addition.

New Design A/C...yes please!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We desperately needed a new A/C window unit as our (very old) one finally gave up the ghost. We decided to take a chance on one of the newer designed air conditioners that allows more of the window to be shown. So far, we have NOT been disappointed! I love the fact that given the unique design, you don't have to use as much or as many materials to keep air out from either side of the unit. It cools properly for the room space. One thing though, you HAVE to make sure to drain it. Given the design, that's one difference between this unit and other window units. We may be replacing another one soon and we would definitely purchase another one when that fateful day comes.

Great purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy install, works great with no noise. Had to buy the ge spray foam to fill in the tiny gaps left from the side foam. I bought it for use just for storms to run off generator but it works so well I left it in my master bedroom to keep it super cool at night and I am loving it! Only sound is outside, I hear nothing from the inside but a small fan noise.

Cools Great, Hard to Install on an Upstairs Window
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great to cool my bedroom, but the installation took a little longer than expected, and it was much heavier than anticipated. While installing, one of the things you unscrew to bracket it in place on the outside of the window came out and fell to the ground because it's just a little too short, so make sure that you're paying attention to that. I love that I'm able to close my window over it. My windows are on the smaller side, so if it wasn't two girls installing it, one of us would have had to be on a ladder outside. Probably much easier to install on a lower window.

Quietest Air conditioner I've owned
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although this is a tough install for one person, this is a very efficient machine. It is very quiet and I love the dry mode option. You will have to go outside to install the AC properly and I highly recommend a helper, but it is worth the effort. I've been enjoying a nice cool first floor of my home since installing.

Overall a good product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this air conditioner a few weeks ago and it is running quite smooth. it is quiet and gets the job done. The heat dome the Northeast faced was conquered in our home by this. Only thing that is a little odd with it is if you touch the top of it, you have to put your fingers in the exact spot. Due to this, we usually just use the remote.

Works Well, Very Quiet
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well. Love that it slides down over the windowsill. Hard to read the electronic display. When using the remote you cant tell what it is set on, and have to get up to look at the display, so remote is a bit useless. AC Unit is very quiet, and cools very quickly.

Great unit, but slapping noise of fan is not great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to put in a sunroom where I could not mount a regular window unit without serious modifications. Installation was fast and easy. The unit itself runs quiet, but once condensation builds up in the outside unit, it is designed to fling water onto the coils to assist with cooling using the blades of the fan. Unfortunately, this creates a kind of slapping/pinging noise that is pretty constant. On a regular window, I'm sure this wouldn't be that audible, but on my thinner sunroom windows, it stands out. That said, it's still more quiet than the portable I ran previously, and my only regret is not getting the 10k BTU unit for extra cooling capacity.

Posted .Hello - Thanks for taking the time to write a review. You may hear a pinging noise caused by water being picked up and thrown against the condenser on rainy days or when the humidity is high. This design feature helps remove moisture and improves efficiency. This is considered a normal operating sound. We appreciate you choosing Profile for your home. All the best. -Don@GEA

Pretty quiet but expected more.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned other ac units and this is by far the quietest. It was also the easiest ac unit to imstall, took me less than 20 minutes to do so. The only thing I don’t like which is by far the most important is that I feel like it doesn’t cool as much as it should. I keep it on the lowest which is 64 but it still doesn’t cool the room as much as i would like. Definitely dissapointed. Kinda overpriced in my opinion.

Posted .There are a few factors that can affect the way an air conditioner cools a room. The size of the room, whether the room is in the sun or shade, how often the door is open, or if the room is a kitchen. We do encourage you to make sure that the filter is clean, and that cool air is not able to escape, as both these could cause the unit to not cool as well.

Good product! But just one thing…
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The option to have an open window is a huuuge plus to any window mounted AC. Inside the room its pretty quiet and settings make the room very comfortable very fast. The one thing that keeps me from rating it 5/5 is simply because the condensation buildup on the exterior part of the unit builds up where the fan spins making this terrible “fan blades skipping across the water” kind of sound. I will play around with positioning and see if i can remedy it slightly. Otherwise ive had no issues with ac performance and the wifi option is very nice to have the room cold by the time i get home!

Quality Control Issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased 2 of these. First one works great. Quiet, cools well, less obnoxious in the window than a traditional unit. Second was for a different room and DoA on arrival. Compressor would never turn on. Waited the obligatory "tilt precaution" time so I didnt even know until the next day. How it made it through QC without a working compressor is baffling. Now I get to spend my Sunday in a hot room hoping the replacement works the next day. I wont be giving a third chance for this brand.

GE Clear View 350 Air Conditioner.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been really impressed with the GE Profile ClearView 8,300 BTU Smart Window Air Conditioner. It cools my room quickly and keeps the temperature consistent without constantly cycling on and off. The ultra-quiet operation is one of its best features—I can comfortably sleep, watch TV, or work without the noise being distracting. Installation took a little time, but the instructions were straightforward, and once it was in place, it felt very secure. Overall, it's energy-efficient, modern-looking, and performs exactly as advertised. If you're looking for a quiet, powerful window AC with smart features, I would definitely recommend this model.

Overall good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does a great job at air-conditioning a single room. It can be a bit loud at times even when brand new, burbling, motor noise, things like that. Overall pretty good and mostly quieter than other ACs I've used.

Window Air Conditioner
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to assemble and install. Quiet, puts out the air, but the sq. ft. it covers is accurate, so if you want more coverage, go with a bigger unit.
