However, it falls far short! It is extremely quiet, which is good. But it doesn’t do its main job, which is to wash the dishes! It uses so little water that there have been many, many times where the recommended “Finish” dish-washing soap doesn’t even dispense from the soap dispenser! And it simply doesn’t wash the dishes like it should. I would not recommend this machine.

There is a troubleshooting section in the use and care manual on pages 22 here at the link https://content.syndigo.com/asset/7a3824a3-3db0-4e1c-ba01-cb2de04f7fa3/original.pdf that may help with some of your concerns you are having. Bottom tray consistently is difficult to pull out and gets “off track” almost every time it’s pulled out! For the amount of money this machine cost it just seems like it should be easier to use!

Save your money and buy a better quality product. I purchased mine on 3/12/2020 online at bestbuy.com and had it delivered\installed and my old unit was hauled away. Everything with the purchase and installation went better than expected, and the dishwasher worked good... for a while. Two days ago (just under a year old) the machine stopped cleaning our dishes. I checked all the typical things... The filter, the fine filter, and the jet dry. The filter and fine filter were as clean as could be and the jet dry reservoir was full of jet dry. I decided to use an Affreash cleaning tab to see if maybe there was buildup, but still no luck. The dishwasher is filling with water, although I had reason to believe the arms were no longer spinning suggesting a water pressure issue. Confirmed the water to the unit was on, and that water was coming out of my faucet. Everything worked fine, except the arms were not spinning. I tested this by taking everything out of the dishwasher, except for 4 glasses in the upper shelf turned right side up to see if they would collect water. They did not. I also opened the dishwasher several time during the cycle to see if the arms were in different positions. They were not. I took the arms out and ran water through them, and water was coming out of the jets just fine suggesting no buildup or debris. So to the phone I went. I first called Best buy since I purchased a 3-year protection plan. After a 20 minute phone call it was determined that I was still within the warranty. So my next call was to GE. After another 15 minute phone call, it was determined that there isn't an authorized GE repair center that services my area (I'm just outside Eugene) so they would need to send me to a different department. The third phone call, which was a transfer, included a 48 minute hold, a 2 minute conversation, and then another 7 minute hold. When the customer service person returned, she said they didn't have anyone to service my area, so they need two days to investigate what to do next, and I should receive a call back. The issue is most likely with the water pump to the unit, which appears to have died less than a year after purchase. DO NOT PURCHASE GE IF YOU LIVE IN LANE COUNTY. They don't have a service center here for our area, and I'm assuming I'll be waiting until the warranty runs out on the 12th, at which time I'll need to start over with the Geek Squad. Good thing my teenager is our backup dishwasher. I will say that every Kenmore Elite that I've purchased has been flawless over several years, but I chose GE for this dishwasher because it had good reviews (probably paid GE employees) but now I wish I went with Kenmore or Bosch. Tons of room and the top tray for lids and small measuring spoons etc is probably my favorite thing about it. It’s also quieter than I imagined possible. And the fact that it has its own disposal makes dishes so much easier!
