    Received opal 2 within 48h of ordering. Unboxed, completed setup. Water pouring uncontrollably out of bottom. Poor quality control. Internet search reveals lots of issues with quality. Buyer beware.

    Its great while its working and once it stops, its a big expensive counterspace taker. Opal support is not good when dealing with the infamous "Defrost" issue - once you experience it, your days of beautiful nugget ice are over.

      Hello- We are very sorry to hear you've had this experience. We can understand how upsetting this is for you and will be certain to share this with our engineering and design teams. What is not normal is if your Opal Ice Maker is going into Defrost mode too frequently (ex. every day), or if it goes into Defrost but there are no audible sounds indicating that the auger is frozen. If this happens, it's highly likely the air vents are blocked. If the water well is filled to the upper fill line and no ice is being produced, please perform this simple test: 1. Please start the Opal and switch to cleaning mode. Don't forget to detach the side tank. 2. Remove the screen/filter at the bottom corner of the reservoir, exposing the small white rubber inlet used for water circulation. 3. Make certain that the Opal is not connected to the phone app and that the water well is filled to the upper fill line with distilled water. 4. Remove the ice bin and press the button to see if the Opal pumps water. This could take up to 5 minutes to start. 5. Plug the small inlet with your finger for 10-15 seconds to create a vacuum within the pump/circulation system. 6. Release the plug and wait a minute or until you see water movement. 7. If you do not see a change, you may want to repeat these steps a couple of times. Note: If you see water movement, please switch to ice mode and run for 30 minutes. **You may also need to prime your pump so try using a Turkey Baster/Injector and gently fill the hose that doesn't go to the side tank with water, and then restart the machine.     Seal leaked water. Rusted the screws and ice shaft. Dont recommend. Only owned a year and a half
