It produces a lot of ice in a short amount of time. It is not loud, and the soft nugget ice is amazing. I purchased of entertaining, but I use this everyday, instead of my ice dispenser in the refigerator door, because the ice is so good.

Completely overpriced (if doesn't hold a lot of ice or water, they should include the side tank for this price) and it makes an awful cat squeeling like sound occasionally

When the Opal needs to defrost, it may start to squeak as ice builds u around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 30-45 minutes. I read other reviews before purchasing that said it was loud when making the ice. I found that it’s really not that loud. I hardly hear it when it’s making ice. This is a great machine

I kept having to pay money for people to fix the icemaker on my refrigerator so this was the next best option and love it. I had one of the other type of icemakers that didn’t make the sonic type ice and it was OK but I love this.

It is quiet, makes ice like it is supposed to do and reminds me when to add water. The ice is wonderful. I had one before and it quit working so I definitely decided to get another one.

Definitely needs the external water tank — can go several days without refilling. Depending on the room temperature you can make a bucket of ice in about an hour, turn off the ice maker and have the ice available for about 8 hours before it melts entirely. Or you can keep the ice maker active and it will replenish ice as you use it. Really nice. The mobile app is a joke though and unnecessary.

It operates seamlessly and produces quality little ice nuggets that make your drink SOoOO much better!
