Good but overpriced

So far I've added the water filters and the water side tank. The side tank is a must if using for more than I person or you will be refilling daily and cleaning up the water it drips while you fill it up. I also added the 4 year geek squad plan due to many videos stating that the ice maker is prone to failure at the 1 year mark.

One should do some extensive research before buying appliances like this. If you can afford to run it all day you should be fine, but if not you might want to reconsider purchasing. For the most part, the ice was great.

To continue making ice, just add more water. It is designed to make 1.6 pounds of ice per day. Just after 1 hour of running time, this machine started to make a horrible noise. I shut it down and tried again the next day. The same thing after about an hour of running it started to make a screaming noise. I see on YouTube that this is a known problem after about a year of running time, but mine did this only after 1 hour running. I sadly had to return it.

Portable Ice maker with Nugget Ice Production and Built-In WiFi is amazing. The system is easy to setup. Simply connect the water valve plug it in and let the machine work. It actually starts making ice within 20 minutes! Very impressive. I did not record the time for the ice container to reach full capacity, however it was within a day. Even after getting large amounts of ice from the machine, more is available within an hour so it's almost like an endless supply. This is with 5-6 people in a household using it on a regular basis. One of the best features of the GE Profile - Opal 2.0 24 lb. Portable Ice maker is that it is small enough to neatly fit on any standard counter in your home without occupying too much valuable counter space. However, don't let the size mislead you! This is a powerful ice making machine. We use it daily for all types of drinks, ice coffee, smoothies, and more. The ice always tastes great. The design of the ice maker is impressive. It has an internal light that is as stunning as it is functional. It looks amazing along side the other appliances on my counter. I love the stainless steel. Looks great with the dark counter tops and matching back splash. The compartment where the ice is stored is very sturdy and yet easy to open, even if you have the ice maker placed in a tidy spot on your counter. The door opens at an angle so you can quickly access the delicious ice and close it securely. There are no leaks, no loud noises, no hard to maintain components. You can remove the ice container and quickly clean the device as necessary. Now that we have one of these, it's hard to image life without it. I plan to put one in the downstairs bar area. The Wifi capability is a nice touch and the associated GE Ice Maker app is pretty nifty for letting you manage certain features of the ice maker from your phone. Such as controlling the light, or checking the status of the ice container, and more. I highly recommend the GE Profile - Opal 2.0 24 lb. Portable Ice maker with Nugget Ice Production and Built-In WiFi.
