Conflicted. Lasted a year and a half which turns out to be about 30 dollars a month …for ice. Did all the ongoing maintenance/cleaning - which is kinda a pain. But makes great ice until it doesnt.

My husband has been wanting this ice maker for years and it has not disappointed. Great ice, easy to use. It does make noise when making ice, but otherwise is a perfect addition to the kitchen.

Ok so first off our brand new smart refrigerator’s ice maker can’t keep up with the use from just two people. So we were in the market for a stand alone ice maker. We don’t have a lot of room. So this portable countertop GE Profile unit fit the bill. It fits on are countertops and under the cabinets and looks nice too. So the size was good how about the unit it self? After reading all the instructions and running the unit on the cleaning cycle twice. I filled her up with water and turned it on. The first piece of ice dropped in about 15 minutes and at 24 minutes I had more than enough for a drink. And by 34 minutes I had enough for two or more drinks. At this point it was making ice fast then we could use it. And use it we do everyday from ice coffee in the morning to a cocktail at night. And we had some friends over on the 4th and never ran out of ice. And every one loved the ice that it makes. We call it Chick-fil-A ice. It make a nice little chewable nugget. It also has built in WiFi and a easy to use app. So when I’m heading home I turn the ice maker on with the app and by the time I get there I have ice waiting for me. I find it easy to use from filling it with water to getting the ice out from the bin. It all just works good. The bin also has a light that you and turn on or off and two setting. We are just head over heels happy with ice maker. I wish I would of knew about it sooner.

I was SUPER excited to try this ice maker. One, the ice maker in my fridge is hit or miss at best and leaks, so I was already in the market for something new. Add to that that this makes nugget ice (the good ice as many call it), I thought, no brainer! I struggled with two things on this ice maker though. First, at this cost, I really thought it would have some sort of cooling feature to keep the ice cold as it produces it. It does not. The ice is small, which is great for crunching on, but that means it starts melting almost as soon as the machine spits out. I also thought I'd be able to have it produce ice and then keep that ice easily accessible on the counter for at least the day. Nope, doesn't work that way. We used it for the holiday weekend yesterday and had to keep transferring it to the freezer to keep it cold enough to use...which compromises the nugget ice quality...it gets harder and not easy "crunchable" like you want. That defeats the whole point of getting a nugget ice machine. The second issue I have with this machine is how often you're expected to clean it. I followed the initial instructions and made a cleaning solution with bleach and then thoroughly flushed it with clean water....I do not want to have to do that every week. Again, defeats the purpose of a product like this, way too much work. Here's the bottom line for me. The ice, when freshly produced is everything promised. BUT it melts fast and isn't super convenient when you want to just have ice on hand throughout the day. I understand some sort of cooling device would be expensive...but this is an expensive ice machine and that really doesn't seem like that big of an ask to me.

Easy to clean makes the best ice and is QUIET no complaints

Had to return the 1st one bc the light inside wasnt working. Best buy made it super easy and pain free. I was expecting a hassle but it was a breeze tbh. Also the ice nugget machine makes a weird semi-loud "churning" noise randomly...not regularly the way sometimes the fridge makes a random noise. Sometimes you don't hear it if you are not close etc. Reason I write this down is because we heard it in the middle of the night (we were up late barely drifting) and we couldnt figure out where it came from, no ghosts here lol.

Makes crunchy, tasty ice. I set a time on the app for the machine to start making ice. There’s ice when I wake up and when I get home from work. I love it!

I would have given this ice maker 5 stars if it was not for the noise level it makes while making ice . It occasionally vibrates the stainless steel sides of the machine which is kinda annoying . Other that that it makes plenty of nice crunchy ice.

Love the ice machine. But, i haven't had it two years. It leaks from the bottom all over the cabinet. But, it doesn't do it all the time so its hard to pin point where it is coming from. You will never use the wifi features.

Great ice maker! Quiet and keeps the ice cold. In the summer I’ll probably store the ice in the freezer, but for now I can leave it in the bin and it’s ready to use! I love it.

It was an excellent buy, just what I needed. I am very satisfied and it was a very good deal.

Got this as a gift for my mom and she loves it. The fact that you guys ship to Guam is a plus for me since not every place ships there.

Extremely noisy. The ice clumps together because it is an able to keep it cool once made. I could hear it from my bedroom all night. I eventually returned it.

Decent ice maker for low quantities. No more than 1 person/day. Would be better if it could be hooked up to a constant water source.

Good until it breaks down. And then they send you a refurb that doesn't last either.

Received opal 2 within 48h of ordering. Unboxed, completed setup. Water pouring uncontrollably out of bottom. Poor quality control. Internet search reveals lots of issues with quality. Buyer beware.

Its great while its working and once it stops, its a big expensive counterspace taker. Opal support is not good when dealing with the infamous "Defrost" issue - once you experience it, your days of beautiful nugget ice are over.
