It does not keep the ice frozen in the container so the ice will slowly melt and drain into your water reservoir to make fresh ice. Pricey but no regrets.

Measure the distance between your counter and cabinets. We were about 1/8" too short to put it on our counter which was a bummer. I would be surprised if cheaper versions weren't just as good though.

It is very fast and doesn’t require daily replenishment of water. I also got the extra side tank and that helps too. Love the ice from this maker.

I use this ice instead of my ice from the refrigerator ice maker. The only negative so far which has nothing to do with the actual machine is the way it was packaged when it was sent, there’s a dent in the front. You could tell the box was thrown around. There was no reinforced packaging when it was sent.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this ice I have had this for one month the interior light which I never use went out I contacted GE who said that the unit has to be replaced they would send me a replacement unit which they never sent me any of the information to follow through to do so thankfully Best Buy is a Best Buy accepted their return and exchange. I did happy issue with my machine making a loud screeching noise but determined determined that since I leave my machine running 247 that I needed to unplug the machine and let it really defrost for about an hour and that issue corrected itself.

Slick design it looks very modern

The bad thing is that you must take out the whole drawer to be able to refill the water. And you need a pitcher to be able to easily fill the water. The ice is soft to bite and crunchy .

Love the nugget ice

I originally purchased without the ice tank and I had trouble with the sensor not recognizing the water. I exchanged for the one with the side tank and it works great. The nugget ice is amazing and having the side tank means you don't have to add water all the time.

Horrible Noise

This is our second one with the first failing after a year. They both make a horrible groaning sound while running. We contacted the manufacturer and on the first one they said to clean it. This second one started making the noise a week after purchase. We contacted the manufacturer on this one and they want $350 to replace it with a refurbished unit. Great ice horrible machine noise.

Did purchase the additional water tank for the side. Also got the water filters to go in the tank, great investment. ice is very similar to sonic.
