When it worked, the ice production was great, the storage bin kept ice pretty much frozen and the convenience was awesome. Unfortunately that only happened for about 10 days. The machine began to show 'Making Ice' but the motor/fan just ran with no ice production. I cleaned the unit and it worked for a few cycles but soon needed to be power reset to initiate ice making. Another disappointing feature is the manual Indicates that the manufacturer recommends weekly cleaning. That is insane...running bleach/water through it for 4 or 5 cycles each week? No thanks. IF they ever figure out how to keep it making ice for 30 days between cleanings then I would recommend it. Otherwise I would pass.

My first GE Opal Ice machine broke and best buy asked if i had warranty. I informed him that i did and with no hesitation he went to get a replacement and walked out with a new one. I always tell people if you going to buy go to best-buy..

The tray in front of the ice maker continues to have wetness when you open and close the tank. We wondered what it was for and now we know after some usage. Love the nugget ice though.

We used filtered water from the store for the unit. Too much money spent to have it start to sound like that, so we ended returning it and buy bagged ice from sams

Good while it lasted

We did everything that we were supposed to as far as maintenance and care. Over the course of a year and a half, we have had issues with it three times. The third and final issue, it quit working all together. For over $600 I expected better. Buy something else!

It’s almost like there is air trapped so it won’t keep going. I usually lift the tank and set it back a couple time to get the air out.
