    Love the ice, when it works. This is our second one. First one never worked, this one constantly stops pulling water from the Reservoir and it has to be taken apart.

    Briefly, this ice maker is quiet and fast, however, I noticed one issue may make the customers confusing that it always has air choking. the solution is to raise the water tank to put the air out.

    Love it! I would buy it again. It takes about an hour to fill up with ice. I use the app to start making the ice before I get home

    It’s been 3 months? It stopped working. Cleaned and descaled regularly but crapped out

    I ordered it and somehow it got returned because it was damaged. I have yet to recieve my rewards certificates back yet so i can order something else. Im sure it is a good product. Just wasnt able to find out.

    My girlfriend love it got it for as a gift due to her being a ice eater the only thing we don’t like is it takes for ever to get full

    The GE Opal countertop ice maker has ended up being a fluke. After about a month of use, it began saying “add water” after pulling all The water in the tank into the internal reservoir and subsequently producing no ice. I wish I would have purchased a protecting plan now. Other than that, the ice it does produce is as advertised and the machine is fairly easy to use and clean.

    The side tank separates from the main part of the ice maker. It's too loud & not worth the money.

    Love the ice, the problem is the side tank can be connected and it says add water, when you add water, it then goes in to defrost mode so it never runs "nonstop". I dont use the side tank because it can be full and tells me to "add water". Every time it says add water (although it's full) it goes in to defrost mode. I have followed the manuals, contacted GE cleaned the unit, drained the unit and still no luck. Returning today.

    Set up today. Set up and cleaning cycles a little much. Amazing product after though. Loving the perfect ice nuggets!!!!

    Do not purchase. This unit stopped working after 1 year and Best Buy will not repair it and neither will GE, so it is wasted money.

      We are sorry to hear you've had this experience. This isn't what we expect to hear. If the water well is filled to the upper fill line and no ice is being produced, please perform this simple test: 1. Please start the Opal and switch to cleaning mode. Don't forget to detach the side tank. 2. Remove the screen/filter at the bottom corner of the reservoir, exposing the small white rubber inlet used for water circulation. 3. Make certain that the Opal is not connected to the phone app and that the water well is filled to the upper fill line with distilled water. 4. Remove the ice bin and press the button to see if the Opal pumps water. This could take up to 5 minutes to start. 5. Plug the small inlet with your finger for 10-15 seconds to create a vacuum within the pump/circulation system. 6. Release the plug and wait a minute or until you see water movement. 7. If you do not see a change, you may want to repeat these steps a couple of times. Note: If you see water movement, please switch to ice mode and run for 30 minutes. ~ You may also need to prime your pump so try using a Turkey Baster/Injector and gently fill the hose that doesn't go to the side tank with water, and then restart the machine. If this doesn't help, please reach out to Opal directly by calling 1-866-907-6718, M-F 8:00-8:00 EST. GE_Appliances

    Had it 1 yr and 2 months. It has a 1 yr warranty and the compressor quit. Everything else works, just won't freeze anymore. Pretty expensive for an appliance for a year.

    Great ice maker bust only lasts about a year. Purchased the warranty and Best Buy replaced it with no issues.

    This has been replaced 4 times so far, 3 refurbished and one brand new, it lasted about 2 to 3 months and I've only owned it for a year. If you buy the geek squad protection you only need the year,

    It worked great for about 6 hours then evertime we tried to use it there was a terrible noise that only intensfied. It was what I imagine a cat screaming in a progressivly loud manner. You coukd hear this thing across the steet at my neighbors house.
