Bought this ice maker as a Christmas gift for my mother, so far she says she absolutely loves it! She is an ice chewer and always said sonic ice is “the good ice” and that’s exactly what kind of ice this machine makes. Little nuggets of pure joy I’d say.. This device also has a light inside though not the brightest, gets the job done. The opal ice maker also connects to an app and tells you when it’s needs to be descaled and all that good stuff. It’s a great machine and gift!

The ice maker in our refrigerator is unreliable, so we bought the Opal 2.0. My family uses it every single day. Even if the ice maker in the fridge suddenly started working again, we still would continue using this machine. If it constantly churned out pellets, it would get 5 stars. For some reason, it will occasionally produce uncompressed shreds of ice. Just as randomly, it will start working again with no intervention.

Bought last August. Worked fine until October when it started showing add water. I had a full tank. I kept unplugging it for 30 minutes then plugged it back in and aftet awhile same thing happened. I called GE and they won't do anything. For what I paid for this machine, it should have lasted longer than 3 months. I won't buy another GE product again. I have read other people that have the same problem.

this little pebbly ice maker is the BEST!!! so convenient and easy to use, and our favorite ice maker by far! Does a great job and fills up quickly!!!

It makes great ice that the whole family loves. Be warned it is pretty loud and doesn’t fit under standard height cabinets.

We bought this right before a party and it worked great. I love the size and quantity that it generates.

The ice production is amazing and the clean cycle is simple. The deep clean ia time consuming but necesscary as buildup happens overtime. Also, use distilled water only if you want to extend thenlofe of your machine. I had mine only 6 mo before it stopped cooling. Have now been without it for 2 months as the contracted warranty company for ge works on sending me a new (refurbished) machine. Imwish I would have bought the best buy protection!!

It's a wonderful ice maker, This is our second one, Our old one is 6 years old, Used it everyday, It still works fine, no problems at all.

Outstanding product and my wife and I love it. I would not trust the Total Tech membership though. I was lied to multiple times and it cost me money and time. They have suddenly changed their policies and many of them were changed to things that cost me money and they told me nothing they could do. They may change warranties and policies on you if it saves them money. Buy the ice maker though… great product.

Great ice! You've got to plan ahead & make sure you've got sufficient water in the tank for the next day/scheduled time, but it's easy enough to fill & manage. I love the scheduling app. I have it kick on 2 hours before we get up in the AM and it's full & ready to go. I have it do the same 2 hours in the afternoon before we get off work and it' keeps up great. After about an hour, most ice in the tray will melt back into the internal reservoir, so it's not really "well" insulated, but I guess that's part of the trade off for the clear tray maybe? Did I mention it makes great ice?

This little machine makes amazing ice and I love scheduling when it runs in the app! It keeps it from running when we’re not home and no wasted ice.

The machine makes great ice and is easy to use. Freezes ice fairly fast, just wish ice hopper was a little bigger.

We Love it! We had another one that was loud and broke plastic pieces inside of it. This one is great with my 19 month old grandson sleeping during nap times now. Also, this is great ice I use Brita water so it's been working GREAT! Love the option to have the side tank as my husband uses alot of ice when he gets home.

Picked up because ice maker on home refrigerator died and parts taking too long to come in for repairs. Makes ice quickly. Kids love the small “nugget” ice better than the larger ice cubes. Even after the ice maker in the home fridge eventually was repaired, we still use this just as much. 7 months later and I can honestly say, making ice 24/7 with 3 kids and their friends throughout the summer and no issues. It kept up with demand (sometimes constantly refilling the reservoir is a pain) and never ran empty.

It produces a good amount of ice. It is a little noisy and I have to wipe the water off the bottom piece each time I open the door to get ice. It’s a compact unit.

I have had this ice maker for a few weeks and it performs great. My family loves the pellet ice. It makes a little noise but considering the quality of the ice it is worth it.
