We love this little machine and the ice it makes! It makes ice fast and is easy to operate

Outstanding product and my wife and I love it. I would not trust the Total Tech membership though. I was lied to multiple times and it cost me money and time. They have suddenly changed their policies and many of them were changed to things that cost me money and they told me nothing they could do. They may change warranties and policies on you if it saves them money. Buy the ice maker though… great product.

Love the opal ice machine....love the ice... BUT..already having problems! This is the second Opal. First lasted 3 weeks and quit making ice...ADD WATER...continued to come up! Replace with a second. After few weeks...ADD WATER.. keeps coming up. Have to thoroughly clean and prime pump to get it working! Now working 3 straight days. If stops again with ADD WATER, will return. Obviously the machine has a defective part. Do Not know why GE doesn't correct the issue! On going problem and ridiculous for a $600 machine.

Best Ice Machine! This is the 2nd one I bought. My first one lasted 4 years and I never turned it off!! I know people review the "noise" but I have not had this issue. Ice produces fast too. Keep up with the cleaning cycles!

The ice maker in our refrigerator is unreliable, so we bought the Opal 2.0. My family uses it every single day. Even if the ice maker in the fridge suddenly started working again, we still would continue using this machine. If it constantly churned out pellets, it would get 5 stars. For some reason, it will occasionally produce uncompressed shreds of ice. Just as randomly, it will start working again with no intervention.

Picked up because ice maker on home refrigerator died and parts taking too long to come in for repairs. Makes ice quickly. Kids love the small “nugget” ice better than the larger ice cubes. Even after the ice maker in the home fridge eventually was repaired, we still use this just as much. 7 months later and I can honestly say, making ice 24/7 with 3 kids and their friends throughout the summer and no issues. It kept up with demand (sometimes constantly refilling the reservoir is a pain) and never ran empty.

My wife and kids eat ice. This machine makes more ice than they can eat, the first countertop ice maker to do so. To make it better, the ice is soft so it is safer for teeth! Far exceeds expectations in quiet performance, production, well worth the extra money when compared to other countertop ice makers.

I LOVE OPAL! She is an amazing ice maker! when I brought her home and made her part of our family it was clear that she was the new favorite electronic child. She makes pellet ice, and does it without complaint hour after hour. I use a Zero water filter to fill her tank. Once you get one, your freezer ice maker will miss you. (I cant even tell you the last time I used the ice dispenser on my freezer.) Thank you GE for a great product. Thank you Bestbuy for putting it on sale in front of me and causing the impulse buy that brought this amazing product home for me and my family to enjoy!

We both love this ice maker the moment we got it. It’s worth the money and it’s one of the top highly rated ice makers. Both me and my Husband use it all the time and we both love this kind of ice and it keeps drinks cold for a long time. It’s the Best ice maker ever.!!!! I highly recommend and suggest getting this ice maker for you and for your family if you are looking for a ice maker.

This little machine makes amazing ice and I love scheduling when it runs in the app! It keeps it from running when we’re not home and no wasted ice.

Great product. Excellent ice just like Sonic. At times can be loud when transferring water from the tank to the ice maker. Overall love it. This is exactly what I was looking for.

The ice production is amazing and the clean cycle is simple. The deep clean ia time consuming but necesscary as buildup happens overtime. Also, use distilled water only if you want to extend thenlofe of your machine. I had mine only 6 mo before it stopped cooling. Have now been without it for 2 months as the contracted warranty company for ge works on sending me a new (refurbished) machine. Imwish I would have bought the best buy protection!!

Easy to use, self cleaning, makes ice quickly, and is quiet!

My refrigerator’s ice maker broke 2 yesrs ago and i needed something to make ice. FYI dont ever by a Samsung refrigerator, theyre junk. This GE makes ice so fast and the ice is the incredible Sonic style ice. Maintaining the machine is paramount though. It needs descaled at least once a month depending on your water quality. Overall, I can’t recommend this machine enough if you need an ice maker.

Great ice! You've got to plan ahead & make sure you've got sufficient water in the tank for the next day/scheduled time, but it's easy enough to fill & manage. I love the scheduling app. I have it kick on 2 hours before we get up in the AM and it's full & ready to go. I have it do the same 2 hours in the afternoon before we get off work and it' keeps up great. After about an hour, most ice in the tray will melt back into the internal reservoir, so it's not really "well" insulated, but I guess that's part of the trade off for the clear tray maybe? Did I mention it makes great ice?
