Was sent unit with missing parts but I was able to get a replacement but always makes a loud screeching noise. The ice is worth it.

Can't believe how much I love this over priced appliance. The ice is great for beverages and making smoothies. I really helps me increase my water intake. When recipes call for cooling down blanched vegetables or eggs, I now have a full supply of ice in order to do the task.

[Employee of bestbuy] Fantastic ice maker. I personally have had no issues but we had one at work that broke pretty quickly due to the harder water line. If you have soft water though and refill the tank this thing is perfect. Thinking about getting a second for the other house its so good!

Honestly, not worth the price tag unless you are ready to baby the heck out of the machine. It truly requires a lot of work unless you want to hear it scream loudly constantly.

The ice is great but the cleaning process takes awhile!

Setup including cleaning process was pretty simple and straight forward. Just be aware that the supply hose from the reservoir to the actual ice maker needs some space. The product delivers exactly what it promises. The only deduction is for the noise. While not “loud” it’s noticeable. If they can solve that, this will be a five star

I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews but I’m glad I went ahead and purchased this ice maker. It isn’t as loud as people were saying. It sounds the same as the oven running and is quieter than the dishwasher. Started making ice in 20 min and bin was full in like as hour. The price was high so I’m hoping it lasts!

The ice cubes are good, and it makes them pretty fast, but it has a hard time pumping the water and at times the motor makes loud screaming noises.

After owning and tossing ice makers through the years . I purchased the GE Opal. First off, it looks good doesnt look like a disposable appliance. The cleaning and descaling routines assure longevity for hard water households. Ice production is as indicated. It looks and operates like a upscale appliance

Yes, this thing is pricey but it gets used more than any other appliance we own. It makes ice pretty fast and when it melts it cycles it back through for more ice, which is like Sonic ice only without the highschool kid attitude. We bought a filter for it that is supposed to last 6 months, didn't make it 45 days so maybe don't get that.

We had the previous version of this. LOVE the ice when it works! After about a year, it stopped making ice, and only made loud noise. We bought the newer version, and this time we purchased the Best Buy warranty, which stated that it was "hassle free, in-home service". Well, fast forward about 7 months, and the ice maker is making ear-piercing noise, and dumping water all over our kitchen. I was so grateful that I purchased the extended warranty. But then, I logged in and found that I needed to make an appointment and take this thing apart and haul it to Best Buy? So much for a hassle-free in-home service! So I drive 30 minutes to the closest Best Buy and drop this thing off, then what? Wait until it gets shipped off for a repair? I thought they were sending a tech out and it would be swapped for a new one. What a scam. I think I paid an extra $100 or so for total coverage, and looks like I'm the one doing the leg work, and will likely get stuck with a patched unit, or a used replacement. I only bought this model because I thought I could just swap it out. Knowing that these units are notorious for breaking down, I would have just passed. What a waste of money.

Best ice machine ever! Makes the perfect ice and very low maintenance. Blows all of the other “nugget” ice makers out of the water!

This GE nugget ice maker is very simple to use and it's very fast making ice.

Really easy to use and makes amazing ice. Better than the fast food ice nuggets we like so much.

I loved my ice machine! That is until I started having problems with it. Water was coming out of my motor a little over the year. I’m contacting customer service to see if I can get a replacement or they can fix it. It’s not fair it lasts a little time compared to other cheaper ones.

Love it!!! I saw this product over social media for a while and I was always tempted to buy it, but thought it was a little pricey. After getting it I would say it’s totally worth the money. I have had for like 2 months now, and have used it every single day.
