Was good while it lasted. We loved having the nugget ice and the machine kept up with our needs until...it started making a horrible noise. It has been cleaned like the manual states to clean and we lost faith in keeping it plugged in when we are not home. It will be going back to Best Buy. Machine is less than two months old. I used filtered water with the optional filters. The search continues for another machine.

I haven't had it for long but so far it's been great. The ice is closer to commercial nugget ice than I was expecting. It's a bit larger but very uniform and has a great texture. Ice is made consistently and stays frozen. We love it. All of the people who made fun of me for spending this much on a ice machine are coming around.

I love this ice maker because it’s stylish and looks nice under the cabinets. It’s a great addition if you do use as much ice as I do. I do own one of this already in another house for about 4yrs and been working like a champ. However, I bought a new one for my new home and I had to return it TWICE within a month. First one started to have a strange and annoying noise like quirking while defrosting. (Returned). 2nd one start having a massive leak within 4 days. ( Returned) 3rd one is working well so far.

I love this. I accidentally ordered the version 1.0 prior from a different site, where they didn't carry this current version. This one is quieter than the earlier. The cleaning mode is visible on the front instead of a switch on the back, which I also found nice. The recommended weekly cleaning is tedious, but overall worth it. I love this thing!

This was a great purchase! My water line for my fridge was across the kitchen so instead of running it through the entire kitchen and making a mess, I decided to get this and it has been great. Friends also call out the "sonic" ice they get to have when they are over. Also doesn't take up a lot of room.

It’s worth it. It’s the best on the market and makes the most amount of ice. Having the ice in miniature cubes makes the water or any beverage just taste better. I shut my fridge ice/water off, best choice anyone can make.

This was a gift to my soft sonic style ice worshiping wife. Over all we enjoy this unit. It's quieter than I expected even though I wish it was just a little bit quieter. Also I wish that the refill tank was top fill, but other than those things we love this ice maker.

Makes the perfect chewable ice and it's easy to use.

Really good ice maker and easy to use. The only issue is the leak that happens when you pull out the ice bucket each time you get ice. I guess that’s why the drip pan is there but I still wish they designed the bucket so there’s no leak. Still good.

Obsessed! This thing has saved my husband LOTS of money when it comes to buying ice!! We travel for work and I take this ice machine everywhere we go, I refuse to leave without it.

This purchase was for a gift so I can only comment on information provided by reciepient. Ice maker has made GREAT ICE since first use. The only problem with this purchase was with the shipping which was a fiasco. Advise anyone to just stay on top of delivery status.

This ice maker provides nugget ice all day. The maintenance and the setup is simple. It pairs really well with my Bartesian drink maker. I find myself drinking more water throughout the day.

Great ice maker. Makes ice fast and makes A LOT of it. Got it for my mom for Mother’s Day. She loves it and it’s being used regularly. Definitely would recommend

Wife has wanted one of these for 2 years, but I couldn’t justify $609 for ice. However she finally wore me down. It’s a bit noise, but works great! Only thing I would like to see changed for future versions is a refrigerated bin.

It was cool till it started being annoying and loud asf when making ice. it made loud screeching noises and sometimes would not make ice and would act like it didn’t have no water smh. also using regular sink water would leave the machine minerallyish and so it was a pain to clean. so if i were to rebuy, try and use purified water and maybe it won’t act up. otherwise love the ice. buy the warranty- trust

The first few days was working well but after the filter was attached the machine started would act like there was no water in the side tank or main tank within one week. The machine was making very strong squealing noise. I liked when it worked for the few days but did not have a great experience. Returned rather than exchange. Also arrived damaged right out of the box from delivery.

Presently, I am dealing with a high pitched squeal that drives me crazy. At other times, it makes a extremely loud flatulent noise that had me yelling at my kid it was so gross. It was just so authentic sounding lol. It does this a lot. The ice itself is great, but this noise is just driving me crazy. Probably returning it within the next few days (when my return option expires).

I struggled with choosing a rating because the ice is AMAZING. However the product itself leaves a lot to be desired. For the amount you pay for these, they should last longer. Luckily I paid for the extended warranty because I am now having issues with my FOURTH unit. Best Buy handles it flawlessly, but you really shouldn't have to do so much work to get these to function properly. GE needs to get it together or lower the price on these to make them disposable. Do NOT skip the Best Buy warranty!!!

We love the GE OPAL Ice Makers but they tend to break after a few years. Recommed you putchase the Geek Squad 4 Year protection as you will likely need it. This one lasted two years and was just replaced with the newer model,
