Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is my second Opal 2.0 in a month. The first one didn't draw correctly from the reservoir. This one works well. The only thing I'm not fond of is after the ice bucket becomes full, and if I don't use the ice and it melts, it doesn't make ice again until I open and close the drawer. What that means for me is I don't have fresh ice in the morning for breakfast. When I wake the ice bucket has melting ice. As soon as I open and close the ice drawer it begins making ice. It's an inconvenience but I love the ice it makes.

A squeak after a week

After about a month now it still squeaks and super annoying. Will be assessing our options for replacement.

Posted .Hello - We understand your concern about the squeaking sound coming from your ice maker. Water hardness can produce this affect of a calcium build up on the auger. We suggest that you try using distilled water if you're in an area with high water hardness. Also, please clean your machine with citric acid using the cleaning kit.
