The only way we make ice now is to schedule it at night for the next day. This machine makes so much noise during the ice-making stage you can't hear yourself think.

Smooth corners, ice bucket can open and stay attached, buttons are better and has a light :) i can't live w/o this. I had 2 of the non GE ones... and now a GE one... life expectancy 3+ years... i hope

I started drinking more water as a result since i love icy cold water. Even my dogs enjoy it as a snack in their bowl. The primary tank is a pain to fill and the reservoir tank jams easily so ill deduct a star for that. At this price for ice this thing should be flawless and it almost was.

The cleaning process is easy and because the ice machine tells you when it needs clean you don't have to wonder when to clean. I do wish it was made where I could put a glass under and it would fill. I don't use the side tank because it takes up too much room on the counter.

It took a little time (40 mins) for the first time to make the nuggets. After the first time it has been really fast at making ice. It makes ice like Sonic the fast food place, so if you enjoy Sonics Ice then you will definitely enjoy this machine. Pricey, but worth it.

On day 2 however it started making a faint squealing noise. I had noticed from other reviews people had mentioned the same thing after 4 months. I didn’t waste any time to do an exchange. Still waiting on the new unit to arrive. Giving it one more chance because it does do what it’s supposed to quite well.

Great soft ice machine you've been waiting for!

It puts out great little pellet size ice and you can have it make ice all day turn it off overnight and get up the next morning and still have a bin full of ice. The side water reservoir is nice, too since you don't have to remove the bin to keep it filled with water. As ice melts in the bin it will drain into the internal reservoir and make more ice with it. GE did an excellent job designing this little ice machine.
