    Bought this because we have a Samsung fridge and its ice machine is garbage. This thing is loud! We are on our second one as well. The first one stopped making ice 11 months after we bought it. GE replaced it but it took them 2 months to send out a refurbished one. You also are supposed to clean it every week. Which means moving it to the sink and running water through it for 30 minutes. And it's heavy. I would stay away from this machine and buy something else. The only good thing about it is I love the little ice chunks.

    We had the original and it is still working every day for 2 years without any problems. If you use distilled water you will never have any mineral buildup or cleaning issues. I don't know why distilled water isn't a requirement. This new 2.0 version is really the 3rd generation and we love it! These aren't cheap but worth it. Once again....use distilled water!

    Makes nice ice pellets but I wish it kept them cold longer. The tray holding the pellets is not refrigerated, so it eventually melts away.
