    The ice machine was WONDERFUL, for the first 3 months we had it. Now it makes a horrible squealing sound whenever it's making ice, and I can't figure out how to stop it.

    I reallly love this ice. I really hate that the machine gives me trouble. First model grew mold. This model doesn’t maintain water suction to make ice.

    Love it .. ice cubes are very small but maxing makes them very fast and quietly. Would buy it again

    Best ice but it is sooooooo loud! It screeches for 5-15 minutes after you open and close the drawer for ice. Bestbuy isn’t allowing me to upload the video with sound

    This is the second time that I’ve had this problem in the past 2 years it goes into defrosting mode and never comes out of it don’t know what the issue is but it seems to work fine for a year and then the problems start

    Was super excited about this purchase. Got it home set it up. Two days later it starts making this horrible screeching noise. I contacted opal support they shipped out a brand new one….. 2 days later the new one has the same exact screeching noise. I am beyond frustrated and upset with the product

      Hello- We are sorry to hear you are having this issue with your Opal. This is not what we expect and are sorry for your inconvenience. We have some information on our website that may help. Here are some tips that should also help. If the water well is filled to the upper fill line and no ice is being produced, please perform this simple test: 1. Please start the Opal and switch to cleaning mode. Don't forget to detach the side tank. 2. Remove the screen/filter at the bottom corner of the reservoir, exposing the small white rubber inlet used for water circulation. 3. Make certain that the Opal is not connected to the phone app and that the water well is filled to the upper fill line with distilled water. 4. Remove the ice bin and press the button to see if the Opal pumps water. This could take up to 5 minutes to start. 5. Plug the small inlet with your finger for 10-15 seconds to create a vacuum within the pump/circulation system. 6. Release the plug and wait a minute or until you see water movement. 7. If you do not see a change, you may want to repeat these steps a couple of times. Note: If you see water movement, please switch to ice mode and run for 30 minutes. **You may also need to prime your pump so try using a Turkey Baster/Injector and gently fill the hose that doesn't go to the side tank with water, and then restart the machine.     Was great when it worked. Had it for about 15 months and it stopped working. Performed regular cleanings as directed. Tried recommended cleaning, maintenance videos and still does not work. Very disappointed in product. Be ready to spend $650 every 12-18 months if you want to have a working product
