Being in hawaii we really miss Sonics as their ice is the best and this ice maker machine remind me of it. The crunch of the ice is satifying

So we got this so she could get some fluids down. She Loves it! Ice is ready in 20min whatever you don’t use melts back into the reservoir and is made back into ice. Even the kids are enjoying it

Set up was easy but the best part is the ICE. It constantly makes ice so we never run out and we are a family of 5. I love having spring water pellet ice. Every drinks is awesome now! This is definitely one of the best purchases I have made.

The ice was good and it does last a while compared to traditional ice but the amount of money for the ice maker which doesn't even keep the ice cold cannot do it. Gave it 5 stars cause it works as intended just not for me.

The ice was great, and it worked really well until it didn't. After about 8 months of ownership, it started making horrible squeaking noises. We watched some YouTube videos and tried to fix it to no avail. Still loudly squeaking. Not worth over $500 for only 8 months.

Posted .Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. We are sorry to hear that your unit is causing a squeaking noise concern. If may be that that your unit is going into defrost mose We have found that your Opal Ice Maker Dispenser will defrost when it is needed. When your Opal needs defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice begins to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and usually takes about 10 to 20 minutes. This is a normal operation. What is not normal is if your Opal Ice Maker Dispenser is going into Defrost mode too frequently, for example, every day, or goes into Defrost but there are no audible sounds indicating that the auger is frozen. If this happens, it is highly likely the air vents are blocked. If airflow is constricted, the machine will not produce ice normally. We would suggest reviewing the troubleshooting tips for this in your use and care guide from the website here (page 14)-https://content.syndigo.com/asset/6156244d-7fe1-4d30-bf7b-ce7ecd405b25/original.pdf. If you find that after troubleshooting, you are still experiencing the loud squeaking then please review the warranty details at the same link (page 19). Dianna@GE Profile

I kept seeing this on bloggers posts... finally caved. Easy to clean and makes the best ice. We only run distilled bottled water through it! WELL worth the money!

Only downside is it ruins drinks because you cant have a drink without the ice after you use it once. Bought one for my sister as well.

If you don’t use the ice, it’s stays in the bin until you are ready and doesn’t melt terribly fast.

Easy to use, some commented that it makes a loud noise when making but I don’t think the noise is bothersome and it only runs when it needs to make ice and then it goes silent again!

We love the crunchiness of the ice! The machine is working well and the noise level isn’t too loud when making ice. It was an expensive machine but hoping it lasts a long time.

We have used it nonstop since we purchased it and have had zero issues. I will update review if anything changes. We have had several friends over and all have said they are going to get one also.
