Works great love the ice low maintenance great units

Run and buy this ice maker!! The nugget ice is the best!! We couldn't decide which ice maker to buy but im extremely happy we decided for this one. Very quiet always has ice ready. One of the best parts is we can control it with our phone so when we get home from a hot day the ice is ready to have a refreshing drink.

This is our third ice maker and no. 2 from GE. Last one died from the discharge cone motor dying. The new filter should help with scale build up and it has better reminders for sanitizing and descaling. The fan in the back is bigger and louder.

I LOVE this ice maker, but it stopped making ice after just 2 months. It says to "add water", but it clearly is filled with water. I'm on hold with GE now. I'm sure they will rectify the situation.

Beautiful works really great!! Gives me the best ice I could ever ask for without having to go to a restaurant and purchasing a bag.

The Opal 2 ultra is an improvement over the older Opal 2. Still not overly quiet but it is on par with ice machines so buyer beware you are getting what you are paying for. The ice is slightly less dense, but this is actually nicer for people who like to chew the ice and if you don't why are you spending or thinking of spending this kind of money on a specialty ice machine. Overall, I love it and well worth the money. The cleaning schedule is a necessary evil, so if you don't want to clean it, get a different type of ice machine.

Absolutely love this ice machine! Soft chewable ice just like you get from Sonic! Runs pretty quiet, and keeps the ice drawer full. The side tank is so nice and has a magnet to hold it in place but removes easily to refill. The scoop with magnetic holder is nice because I can position it anywhere I want and any angle. Has an app you can use to control The unit if you’d like it. Highly recommend using mineral water in it to keep mineral deposits from forming in the lines. Makes cleaning it alot easier and less often. One of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time.

We were so tired of always having to drive to our favorite gas station for crushed ice. We finally made the decision to get our own. We are loving it! Sure, some of the maintenance might be a bit much, but saving us from having to drive in to town makes it all worth it!

I love this ice maker! It is so nice and makes ice quickly and as long as you keep the water tank filled up you never run out.

The ice is great and that's about it. The machine requires sanitizing weekly, which requires you to take the entire machine apart, move it to a sink and flush bleach thru it. And then it requires descaling once a month - every time you put the machine back together it'll throw an "Add Water" issue. The machine is overpriced and a hassle. Returning it is a nightmare as you only have 2-weeks and you better have all the boxes, Styrofoam, etc. Honestly I've never regretted purchasing something more in my life.

This is a great ice maker. It looks good and makes high quality ice. Runs smoothly and the ice is perfect!

We previously had the Opal 1.0 and had issues so we were kind of skeptical going with GE again. However, with this model it seemed like they addressed the issues with overheating causing the unit not to make ice. On this model there are two radiators and a fan on the back along with an removable air filter. These additions so far seem to keep the unit a lot cooler. Hopefully, we can get more than two years out of it. We love it so far. Gets ice in about 15 mins and full in about 4 hours 2-3 hours.

Machine has its flaws sometimes. On my third machine but still the best out in the market in my opinion

We love the ice!!!! But we are now using our 4th machine. Our machines were cleaned and cared for just as directed. We pet and pamper all of them but between 12-18 months on each of them, they die. Obviously we love the ice enough to keep buying the machines but my best advise is DO NOT buy without purchasing the extended insurance coverage
