This ice machine is will cease to operate should it be plugged and operating over two days. definitely not a huge fan of the cost in regards to its operation. At this point you're better off putting money towards a refrigerator that has this option of ice.

Posted .We are happy to provide guidance with this Opal icemaker. The ice created by the Opal ice maker is a softer, chewable nugget ice. It is normal for the ice to start to melt when it is put into liquids, especially with liquor as it is normally kept at room temperature. Additionally, it is normal for the ice to melt and break up when shaken with a liquid, especially if the liquid is warmer than the ice.

They expect you to take it apart, fill it with vinegar, let it soak for 18 hours every single month. Not to mention the sanitizing using bleach. And to add to it, we’ve had it 4 months and it stopped working. It says “add water” even though it’s full. I’ve tried every troubleshooting article and video I can find and nothing fixed the problem.

Posted .Thank you for sharing your experience and concerns regarding the recommended descaling and sanitizing procedures needed to properly care for your Opal. The scale inhibiting filter will filter 40 gallons of water before needing to be replaced. Replacement will be approximately every 3 months, though it will depend on your usage. If the reservoir is full and you receive the "add water" message, that may be an indication that the filter needs to be replaced.
