Terrible noises

They make terrible noises, the second one not as quick. But is doing the same as the first one we replaced. Friends who have purchased have had the same issue. Hopefully the next one will work better?

Posted .We are happy that your new Opal icemaker is producing ice as designed. It is however normal for the unit to shut off after an extended period of time. If you would like, the Wi-Fi enabled SmartHQ app will allow you to set a schedule on the icemaker, so nugget ice is readily available at certain times of the day,

The Good Ice Comes Home

I actually owned an Opal 1.0 before upgrading to this 2.0 model and it's everything I hoped for. An enormous water capacity with the extra tank. Big bin for the ice. Solid metal scoop. Even has a light for those late night ice runs. Highly recommended.

Posted .We are glad to hear it is working for you now. When the Opal is in need of defrosting, it may start to squeal or squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 10 to 45 minutes.
