Love and Hate this machine!

Our machines were cleaned and cared for just as directed. We pet and pamper all of them but between 12-18 months on each of them, they die. Obviously we love the ice enough to keep buying the machines but my best advise is DO NOT buy without purchasing the extended insurance coverage

Best Nugget Ice Maker On Market

It makes the best chewable nugget ice out there. But keep in mind it comes at a price, be prepared for routine cleaning of your machine to keep it performing at its peak. To me it’s worth the time and effort because I like to eat a lot of ice. This is my second GE Opal and I highly recommend it!

We were still excited about using the second one. We got it set up and tried it out and no water leaks, andit was making ice.We thought, this is great! Then it started making a really loud squealing noise a couple hours later. We turned it off, unplugged it and set it up again, we tried working with it for a few day and it would always start squealing so we took it back. We are so disappointed because we really loved the one our son has. I would upload a video with the noise it made but it's not giving me the option.

Wifi enabled so we placed in a side room where it can tell us if it needs attention. The side car water holder is a great addition to not have to constantly add water. We chose this instead of a new refrigerator where our icemaker broke. The ice itself is solid.

They called Best Buy and they said they needed to call the company. It’s been a bunch of crap. So don’t buy it from Best Buy!!!
